Taking a screenshot on your Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra is something you'll find yourself doing more often than you'd think, especially with that massive 14.6-inch display. Whether you're saving a section of a lecture note, capturing a high-res map, or sharing a specific part of a document, Samsung gives you several ways to grab exactly what you need.
Use the Button Combo
The standard button method works just like it does on other Samsung devices. Press and hold the Power button and the Volume Down button simultaneously, then release them quickly. The screen flashes, and a toolbar appears at the bottom with options to edit, share, or capture more of the page.
Real talk: on a tablet this large, hitting both buttons at once can feel a bit awkward. If it doesn't register on the first try, that's normal. If the buttons ever feel completely unresponsive, try a force restart by holding Power and Volume Down for about 10 to 15 seconds until the device restarts.
Swipe Your Palm Across the Screen
This is the method I recommend for the Tab S11 Ultra. It feels incredibly natural on a large, flat surface. Go to Settings > Advanced features > Motions and gestures > Palm swipe to capture and turn it on. Once it's enabled, just lay the edge of your hand flat against the screen and swipe it across from one side to the other. No awkward button pressing, and it works almost every time.
Use the Quick Settings Panel
If you're already navigating the interface with your fingers, the Quick Settings panel is a fast way to capture without any gestures. Swipe down from the top right of the screen twice to open the full panel. Look for the Screenshot tile. If it's missing, tap the pencil icon to edit your tiles, then drag the Screenshot button into your active set. After that, a single tap captures your screen instantly.
Capture a Scrolling Screenshot
One of the best features for a tablet used for reading or research is the scrolling screenshot. Right after you take a regular capture, tap the scroll capture icon (the one with two downward arrows) at the bottom of the screen. Keep tapping it as the page automatically scrolls down. You can capture an entire article or a massive chat history in one seamless shot instead of juggling multiple images.
Use the Edge Panel or S Pen
The Edge Panel is a great fit for the Tab S11 Ultra's wide screen. Swipe the Edge handle on the side of your display to open it, then choose Smart select. This lets you draw a precise rectangle, oval, or even create an animated GIF of a specific area. It's much faster than cropping a full screenshot later.
If you have the S Pen handy, hover it over the screen and click the button to open the Air command menu. Select Screen write to capture the current screen and start jotting down notes or circling details immediately. It turns your tablet into a digital notepad in seconds.
Voice Commands
When the tablet is propped up on its stand and you're across the room, or your hands are just full, a voice command saves the day. Say "Hey Bixby, take a screenshot" or "Hey Google, take a screenshot." The assistant grabs whatever is on the screen and saves it to your Gallery without you lifting a finger.
Where Screenshots Go and How to Tweak Settings
All your captures live in the Gallery app under Albums > Screenshots. The toolbar that appears right after a capture gives you instant one-tap access to crop, draw a tag, or share it to another app. If you want to customize the behavior, head to Settings > Advanced features > Screenshots and screen recorder. You can hide the toolbar after capturing, change the save format, or adjust other preferences. To silence the screenshot shutter sound, simply put your tablet in silent or vibrate mode using the volume panel.
