What You're Getting

The XDCA-FS7 is the dedicated extension unit designed for the Sony PXW-FS7 camcorder. It connects via a 144-pin I/O camera interface and adds professional broadcast connectivity including Genlock (1x BNC) and Reference Output (1x BNC).

Coverage includes Sony's 90-day labor and 1-year parts limited warranty.

Who This Is For

This is for FS7 owners who need proper genlock and reference output for multi-camera setups or broadcast environments. If you are shooting solo or never need to sync multiple cameras to a master clock, the base FS7 body may already cover your needs. But for studio, live production, or any workflow requiring frame-accurate sync, this extension unit is a requirement, not an option.

Final Verdict

At $857.33. This is the cheapest the XDCA-FS7 has been relative to its trailing averages. If you own an FS7 and need broadcast-level sync, waiting only risks a return to the $1,200+ range.
