Sony packed over 60 minutes of release dates, sequels, and remakes into its June 2 State of Play, setting a punishing pace for the rest of 2026. The show opened with Marvel's Wolverine and closed with the reveal of God of War Laufey, a new mainline entry starring Kratos' wife Faye.
Between those two heavyweights, nearly every game on screen walked away with a concrete ship date.
Insomniac Games showed Wolverine's bloody combat in full. Logan parkours across rooftops, rips through enemies with adamantium claws, and teams up with Jean Grey for partner finishers. Mystique and Sabretooth also appear. The September 15 release date locks in what is shaping up to be Sony's biggest holiday exclusive.
God of War Laufey, the night's final and most surprising announcement, puts Faye (played by Deborah Ann Woll) in the protagonist role. The 20-minute gameplay segment shows her fighting through the afterlife after Kratos burns her body. No release date was announced, but the extended look signals Santa Monica Studio is further along than many expected.
The Fall lineup is stacked with dates. Capcom's Onimusha: Way of the Sword arrives September 25 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, marking the first mainline entry in over 20 years. A demo is available now. Remedy's Control Resonant drops a day earlier on September 24, with players controlling Dylan Faden through a Manhattan warped by paranatural forces.
Silent Hill: Townfall lands the same day, September 24, set on a fog-soaked Scottish island in 1996. Developer Screen Burn (formerly No Code) showed a first-person psychological horror where players handle using a handheld CRTV device to detect enemies.
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is set for February 12, 2027. Crystal Dynamics and Amazon Game Studios are rebuilding Lara Croft's 1996 debut in Unreal Engine 5, with dinosaurs, jungles, and snowstorms all confirmed.
Arc System Works revealed Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, a 4v4 tag-team fighter hitting PS5 and PC on August 6. The roster now includes Magneto, Green Goblin, Carnage, and Doctor Doom as the Knights of Doom faction.
Ubisoft announced Rayman Legends Retold, a full 3D remake of the 2013 classic, for October 1 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. Local co-op supports up to four players.
Until Dawn 2 is real and coming to PS5 in 2027. Developer Firesprite (Horizon Call of the Mountain) is taking the premise to a tropical island where ghost hunters chase their next viral hit. Peter Stormare returns as Dr. Hill.
Phantom Blade Zero launches September 9 on PS5 and PC, with a dedicated deep-dive State of Play scheduled for later this summer. The wuxia action RPG from Beijing studio S-GAME casts players as an elite assassin with 66 days to live.
No Rest for the Wicked, from Moon Studios (Ori and the Blind Forest), finally exits Early Access with a PS5 launch in October. The 1.0 release brings a full class system and endgame content.
The show also confirmed release dates for Dune: Awakening (September 22), Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve (October 2), Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered (October 1), and Bungie's Marathon Season 2, which launched the same day with a free trial running through June 9.
Sixteen games across the presentation now have concrete launch windows, making this one of Sony's most release-date-dense showcases in years.
