Taking a screenshot on your Samsung Galaxy S25 is one of those things you'll do all the time. Whether you're saving a funny meme, capturing a flight confirmation, or showing a friend a specific setting, it's a core phone skill. With One UI 7, you have several quick methods to choose from.

Press the Button Combo

The classic method works perfectly on the Galaxy S25. Simply press and hold the Side button and the Volume Down button together for a brief moment, then release. You'll see a quick animation and hear a shutter sound (if your phone isn't on silent). A small toolbar will pop up at the bottom of your screen right after.

This is the most reliable way to get a screenshot, and it works from any screen, including your lock screen.

Enable and Use Palm Swipe

This gesture feels like a magic trick once you get the hang of it. First, you need to turn it on. Head to Settings > Advanced features > Motions and gestures and tap on Palm swipe to capture to enable it.

To use it, place the side of your hand vertically against the edge of the screen, as if you were chopping it, and swipe across from left to right or right to left. The key is to make sure the side of your hand is touching the glass. I find this method super handy when I'm holding the phone in one hand.

Add a Screenshot Quick Panel Button

Swipe down twice from the top of your screen to open your full Quick Settings panel. Look for the button that says Screenshot. If you don't see it, tap the three-dot menu or pencil icon to edit your panel, then drag the Screenshot tile into your active buttons.

Once it's there, a single tap will capture your screen. It's a great option if you prefer tapping over pressing buttons or swiping.

Use the Edge Panels for More Control

The Edge panel is that slim, semi-transparent tab on the right side of your screen. Swipe it open and look for the Smart select panel. Here, you can tap to take a standard screenshot or choose more advanced options like capturing a specific rectangle or oval shape.

If the Edge panel isn't enabled, go to Settings > Display > Edge panels and toggle it on. You can then customize which panels, like Smart select, are available from the Edge panel settings.

Capture an Entire Scrolling Page

This is perfect for saving long articles, webpages, or chat histories. First, take a regular screenshot using any method. When the preview toolbar appears at the bottom, tap the icon that looks like two downward arrows. This is the "Capture more" or scroll capture button.

Your phone will automatically scroll down and extend the screenshot. You can keep tapping that button to continue capturing further down the page until you have everything you need.

Ask Google Assistant or Bixby

When your hands are busy, just use your voice. Say, "Hey Google, take a screenshot" or "Hi Bixby, take a screenshot." Your Galaxy S25 will capture the screen immediately and save it to your gallery. It's a simple, hands-free solution that works from any app.

Edit and Manage Your Screenshots

Right after taking a screenshot, that bottom toolbar lets you jump into editing. You can tap to crop, draw on the image with a pen, add text, or share it directly to an app. If you close the toolbar, all your screenshots are saved automatically.

You can find them later in the Samsung Gallery app. There's usually a dedicated Screenshots album. From there, you can organize, delete, or share any screenshot you've taken.

Customize Your Screenshot Settings

For more control, dive into the screenshot settings. Go to Settings > Advanced features > Screenshots and screen recorder. Here, you can change the image format to save storage space, set where screenshots are saved, or choose to hide the toolbar immediately after capturing.

If you want to silence the shutter sound, just switch your phone to vibrate or silent mode using the volume buttons. The sound is tied to your system volume settings.
