Use the Button Combo

The fastest way to grab a screenshot on your Pixel 10 Pro XL is the classic button method. Press and hold the Power button and the Volume Down button at the same time. Let go as soon as you feel a vibration and see the screen flash. A small thumbnail preview will pop up in the bottom corner. Tap it to edit, share, or delete right away. If you do nothing, it saves automatically.

Try the Power Menu Shortcut

Android 16 adds a screenshot option right in the power menu. Press and hold the Power button until the menu appears. You'll see a Screenshot button alongside Power off and Emergency. Tap it and your phone captures whatever was on screen before you opened the menu. This method is great if the button combo feels awkward one-handed on the 6.9-inch display.

Use Google Assistant

Since this is a Pixel, Google Assistant is deeply integrated. Just say "Hey Google, take a screenshot" and it'll snap whatever is on your screen. You can also hold the Power button (if you've set Assistant to trigger that way) or swipe in from the bottom corners. The screenshot saves to Google Photos like any other.

Capture with Gesture Navigation

If you're using gesture navigation (the single bar at the bottom), swipe up and hold to open the recent apps view. About halfway down each app card, you'll see a Screenshot button. Tap it to capture that app's current screen. This is especially useful when you're in an app that hides the status bar or navigation buttons.

Add a Screenshot Tile to Quick Settings

Swipe down twice from the top of the screen to expand the full Quick Settings panel. Look for a Screenshot tile. If it's missing, tap the pencil icon (edit) at the bottom, then drag the Screenshot tile into your active grid. Now you can tap that tile anytime to capture the screen without touching any buttons at all.

Capture a Long Scrolling Screenshot

After taking a regular screenshot on the Pixel 10 Pro XL, tap the preview thumbnail immediately. You'll see a Capture more button on the right. Tap it repeatedly to extend the capture downward through a webpage, settings list, or chat conversation. The result is a single tall image that includes everything that was off-screen. This works on any app that supports scrolling content.

Edit and Share Right After Capturing

The preview thumbnail isn't just a preview. Tap it to open the built-in Markup editor. You can crop, draw with your finger, highlight important bits, or add text. Tap the share icon to send it to any app instantly. If you dismiss the preview, your screenshots are saved in Google Photos under Library > Screenshots. You'll also find them in the file manager at Internal storage > Pictures > Screenshots.
