Taking a screenshot on your Samsung Galaxy Tab S10+ is a fundamental skill you'll use all the time, whether you're saving a webpage for research, capturing a funny moment from a video, or sharing an error message with tech support. With its large 14.6-inch screen and One UI 6.1.1, Samsung offers several intuitive methods, some of which are perfect for a device this size.
Press the Button Combo
The universal method that works every time is the button combination. On your Tab S10+, simply press and hold the Volume Down button and the Power button together for a brief moment, then release. You'll see a quick animation, hear a shutter sound (if your sound is on), and a small toolbar will pop up at the bottom of your screen.
This method is reliable, but on such a large tablet, reaching both buttons on the frame can be a bit of a stretch if you're holding it with one hand.
Enable and Use Palm Swipe
For a much more natural gesture, especially on the expansive screen, enable Palm Swipe to capture. Open Settings, then go to Advanced features > Motions and gestures. Find and toggle on Palm swipe to capture.
Once it's on, you can take a screenshot by placing the side of your hand vertically against the screen and swiping horizontally from left to right or right to left. It feels like you're wiping the content into your gallery, and it's fantastic when the tablet is resting on a table or stand.
Tap the Screenshot Quick Panel Tile
Swipe down from the top of your screen twice to open your full Quick Settings panel. Look for a tile labeled Screenshot. If you don't see it, tap the pencil icon to edit your tiles and add it from the list of available buttons.
This puts a virtual screenshot button right in your notification shade, which is a great alternative if you're using a keyboard case or have the tablet propped up and don't want to pick it up.
Utilize the Edge Panels
The Edge Panels are a powerful Samsung feature. First, enable them by going to Settings > Display > Edge panels and toggling them on. Swipe the handle in from the right edge to open the panel, then swipe through your panels to find Smart select.
This tool lets you capture a specific rectangle, oval, or even create an animated GIF. It's perfect for grabbing just a portion of your massive screen, like a single paragraph from a long article or a specific chart.
Ask Google Assistant
When your hands are full or the tablet is across the room, use your voice. Just say, "Hey Google, take a screenshot." Your Tab S10+ will capture the screen immediately and save it. This is incredibly handy if you're following a recipe or a workout video and need to snap a picture without touching the device.
Capture Long Scrolling Screenshots
This is one of the most useful features for a productivity tablet. After you take any screenshot, look for the Scroll capture button (it looks like two downward arrows) on the pop-up toolbar. Tap it, and the tablet will automatically scroll down and stitch the next section of the page onto your screenshot.
You can keep tapping the button to capture an entire lengthy webpage, document, or email thread. I find this indispensable for saving research or long chat histories on the Tab S10+'s tall display.
Edit and Annotate Immediately
Right after the screenshot is taken, the preview toolbar gives you quick access to edit. You can tap to crop the image, use the pen tool to draw or highlight (great for pointing something out), or add text. If you have an S Pen attached, it will automatically be selected for precise annotations, though if you experience latency, a quick calibration in Settings can help.
From this toolbar, you can also share directly to any app or save it to your Samsung Gallery in the dedicated Screenshots album.
Configure Your Screenshot Preferences
To fine-tune how screenshots work, dive into the settings. Go to Settings > Advanced features > Screenshots and screen recorder. Here, you can change the image format to save space, hide the toolbar automatically, or disable the shutter sound. You can also set a specific folder for your screenshots if you want to keep them separate from your other photos.
