Capturing what's on your OnePlus Nord 4's screen is a daily task, whether you're saving a funny chat, a travel itinerary, or an error message to show tech support. With OxygenOS 14 on Android 14, you have several quick and intuitive ways to do it, including some handy features unique to OnePlus.
Press the Button Combo
The classic method works every time. Simply press the Power button and the Volume Down button together for a brief moment. You'll see a quick flash on the screen, hear a shutter sound, and a small preview thumbnail will pop up in the bottom-left corner. You can tap that preview to edit or share the screenshot right away.
If you ignore the preview, the screenshot will save automatically to your gallery. I find this method is the most reliable, especially when you need a screenshot in a hurry.
Swipe Down with Three Fingers
This is the signature OnePlus gesture and often the fastest way to screenshot. Just place three fingers anywhere on the screen and swipe down in one smooth motion. The screen will flash and capture instantly. It's perfect for when you're holding the phone with one hand and can't easily reach both side buttons.
Make sure this feature is turned on. You can check by going to Settings > Additional settings > Gestures & motions > Three-finger screenshot and toggling it on.
Use the Quick Settings Tile
Swipe down from the top of your screen twice to open the full Quick Settings panel. Look for a tile labeled Screenshot. If you don't see it, tap the pencil edit icon to enter edit mode and add the Screenshot tile from the available options.
Once it's there, you can take a screenshot with a single tap from any screen or app. This is a great option if you prefer not to use physical buttons or gestures.
Take a Scrolling Screenshot
This is incredibly useful for capturing entire webpages, long chat histories, or documents. First, take a regular screenshot using any of the methods above. Immediately after, you'll see a preview panel at the bottom of the screen with several options.
Tap the icon that looks like a downward arrow with two lines, labeled Scroll capture. Your Nord 4 will automatically scroll down and capture the next section, stitching it to the first image. You can keep tapping this button to capture as much length as you need.
Edit and Annotate Immediately
Right after taking a screenshot, tap the preview thumbnail that appears. This opens the OnePlus screenshot editor. Here, you can crop the image, draw on it with different colors, add text, or use a highlighter.
There's also a blur tool, which is perfect for obscuring personal information like phone numbers or addresses before you share the image. When you're done, tap the share button to send it directly through any app, or tap save to store the edited version.
Find Your Saved Screenshots
All your screenshots are automatically saved in your gallery. Open the Photos or Gallery app and navigate to the Albums tab. You should see a dedicated Screenshots album there.
You can also find the image files directly through your file manager. Go to Internal storage > Pictures > Screenshots. The metal unibody design of the Nord 4 means it feels great in hand for reviewing all your captures.
What If the Buttons Don't Work?
If the physical button combo isn't responding, first try the three-finger gesture or Quick Settings tile. If those aren't working either, a temporary software glitch might be the cause. I'd recommend performing a quick restart by holding the Power button for about 10 seconds until the phone reboots.
After restarting, check your gesture settings again to ensure the three-finger screenshot hasn't been accidentally turned off. This usually resolves any capture issues.
