When your Xiaomi 15 won't charge wirelessly, it's often a simple fix. The phone's 50W wireless charging is fast, but it needs the right conditions to work. I'd start by checking the basics before moving to software fixes.

Center Your Phone on the Pad

The charging coil in the Xiaomi 15 needs to line up almost perfectly with the coil in the charger. Place the phone dead center on the charging pad. You should feel a slight vibration and see a charging animation on the screen. Being off by even a small amount can prevent the connection from starting.

Take Off Your Phone Case

This is one of the most common culprits. Thick cases, especially those with metal plates, magnetic rings, or built-in card holders, will block the wireless signal. Pop the case off and try charging the bare phone. If it works, you'll need a case specifically rated for wireless charging.

Verify Your Charger and Power Source

Make sure your wireless charger is plugged into a working outlet. For the Xiaomi 15's 50W wireless charging to work at full speed, you need a compatible high-wattage adapter and cable. The charger that came with your phone or a Xiaomi 90W HyperCharge adapter is ideal. A weak power brick can cause the charger to fail or charge very slowly.

Force Restart Your Phone

A quick reboot can clear up temporary software glitches in HyperOS 2 that might be stopping the charging process. Press and hold the Power button for about 15 seconds. Keep holding it until you see the Xiaomi logo appear, then release. This forces a full restart without deleting any of your data.

Clean the Phone and Charger Surface

Dust, lint, or any debris on the back glass of your Xiaomi 15 or on the surface of the charging pad can create a gap. Wipe both down with a dry, soft cloth. A clean connection is crucial for efficient power transfer.

Check for System Updates

Xiaomi frequently releases updates that can fix bugs, including ones related to charging. Go to Settings > About phone > MIUI version and tap "Check for updates." Install any available update, as it might contain a patch for the wireless charging controller.

Let Your Phone Cool Down

The Snapdragon 8 Elite chip can get warm during heavy use. If your phone is too hot, it will automatically pause charging to protect the battery. This is more likely if you're gaming or using the camera right before placing it on the charger. Let it sit for a few minutes to cool down, then try again.

Reset Your Network and Bluetooth Settings

This is a less obvious step, but it can help. In HyperOS, go to Settings > Connection & sharing > Reset Wi-Fi, mobile networks and Bluetooth. This resets connectivity modules without affecting your personal files. After the reset, try wireless charging again.

Test With a Different Charger

If you have access to another Qi wireless charger, give it a try. If your Xiaomi 15 charges on a different pad, then your original charger is likely faulty. If it still won't charge on any wireless charger, the issue is probably with the phone's internal hardware or coil.
