If your POCO X7 Pro's battery seems to be disappearing faster than it should, you're not imagining things. That massive 6000mAh battery is built for endurance, so when it drains quickly, it's usually a software or setting issue. Let's get it sorted.

Check What's Using Your Battery

Before you start changing settings, find the culprit. Go to Settings > Battery. Here, you can see exactly which apps have been using power over the last 24 hours or the past week.

Look for any app with a surprisingly high percentage. Social media apps, games, and video streaming services are often the main offenders. This screen is your best clue for where to focus your efforts.

Manage App Behavior and Notifications

Apps running in the background are a top cause of drain. HyperOS gives you good control over this. Head to Settings > Apps > Manage apps.

Tap on any power-hungry app from your battery list. Look for options like Autostart and turn it off to prevent the app from launching on boot. Also, check and restrict Background activity if the app doesn't need constant updates.

Next, tackle notifications. Go to Settings > Notifications & status bar > App notifications. Disable notifications for apps that constantly ping you unnecessarily. Each wake-up of the screen or vibration costs a little power.

Optimize Display and Performance Settings

The display is a major battery user. First, lower the brightness. You can also enable Auto-brightness in Settings > Display to let the phone adjust it for you.

Reduce the screen timeout. Go to Settings > Display > Sleep and set it to 30 seconds or 1 minute. This ensures the screen turns off quickly when you're not using it.

Consider using Dark Mode. You can find it in Settings > Display > Colour scheme. On the X7 Pro's display, dark themes can save a noticeable amount of power.

Control Connectivity Features

Turn off what you're not using. Swipe down twice from the top of the screen to open the Quick Settings panel and toggle off Bluetooth, GPS, and Mobile Data when you don't need them.

For GPS, you can set apps to use location only while the app is in use. Go to Settings > Location and review app permissions. Changing apps from "Allow all the time" to "Allow only while in use" makes a big difference.

Update Your Software and Apps

Software bugs can cause abnormal battery drain. Make sure your phone is running the latest version of HyperOS. Go to Settings > About phone > HyperOS version and tap "Check for updates."

Also, update all your apps through the Google Play Store. Developers often release updates that fix battery optimization issues. Open the Play Store, tap your profile icon, and go to Manage apps & device > Updates available.

Use Built-in Battery Saver Tools

The POCO X7 Pro has excellent battery-saving modes. For a quick boost, enable Battery Saver from the Quick Settings panel or in Settings > Battery. This limits background activity and performance.

For a more tailored approach, try the Ultra Battery Saver mode. It restricts the phone to only essential functions and a handful of apps you choose, which can extend battery life for days in a pinch.

If you're a gamer, use the Game Turbo feature. It sounds counterintuitive, but it optimizes system resources specifically for gaming, which can prevent unnecessary background processes from draining the battery while you play.

Check for Rogue Apps and Reset

If a single app is causing problems, try uninstalling it temporarily to see if battery life improves. You can always reinstall it later. For pre-installed apps you can't remove, try force stopping them in the Apps settings menu.

Sometimes, a simple reboot can clear up a temporary software glitch causing drain. Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds or more until the phone restarts. This is a force restart and won't delete any data.

If problems started after a recent update, you can try clearing the cache for the "Battery and performance" app. Go to Settings > Apps > Manage apps, tap the three-dot menu, select "Show all apps," find "Battery and performance," and tap "Clear cache."

Review Advanced Settings and Habits

Turn off "Always-on display" if you have it enabled. You can find it in Settings > Display. While it's a useful feature, it does keep a part of the screen active constantly.

Reduce animation scales. Go to Settings > Additional settings > Developer options. If Developer options aren't visible, go to About phone and tap "HyperOS version" 7 times to unlock them.

Inside, scroll to the "Drawing" section and set Window animation scale, Transition animation scale, and Animator duration scale to "0.5x" or "Animation off." This makes the UI feel snappier and reduces GPU workload slightly.

Finally, assess your charging habits. For the fastest charging, use the official 90W HyperCharge adapter and cable. While the phone charges quickly with other USB-C chargers, you won't get the full 90W speed, which might lead to longer charging sessions that feel like drain.
