Mangmi's Pocket MAX Android gaming handheld launched today with a $199.99 Super Early Bird price through February 12. The device features a 7-inch 144Hz AMOLED display and modular magnetic controllers, marking the first Android handheld with swappable button modules.
The Pocket MAX runs on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 865 processor paired with Adreno 650 graphics. Its 8GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage support microSD expansion up to 2TB.
An 8000mAh battery provides power with 27W fast charging capability.
Mangmi's modular controller system lets users swap between conductive rubber and mechanical micro-switch D-pads and ABXY buttons. The magnetic modules attach via pogo pins, offering different tactile feedback options for various game genres. Early buyers receive free mechanical micro-switch modules as part of the Super Early Bird promotion.
After February 12, the price increases to $219.99 during the Early Bird period before reaching its $239.99 retail price. The device faces competition from the AYN Odin 2 Portal, currently priced at $250. Both handhelds target the mid-range Android gaming market with similar Snapdragon 865 processors.
The 7-inch 1080p AMOLED display delivers 144Hz refresh rates with HDR support and 800 nits peak brightness. Hall effect triggers and TMR electromagnetic joysticks provide precision controls for competitive gaming.
Active cooling maintains performance during extended play sessions.
Mangmi positions the Pocket MAX as a streaming and emulation device capable of handling AAA titles from PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms. The company's previous Air X model established its presence in the budget handheld market, with the Pocket MAX representing an upgrade in display size and modular features.
The Pocket MAX launched today, with sales beginning on February 5-6. The device ships with Android 13 and includes a one-year limited warranty covering manufacturing defects.
Three color options are available: conventional black and white, plus a cream and mocha combination reminiscent of original Game Boy designs.
