If your Huawei Pura 70 Pro is completely unresponsive, the first thing to try is a force restart. Just press and hold the Power button for a solid 10 seconds or more. You should feel a vibration and see the Huawei logo appear as the phone reboots. This simple step clears out temporary glitches and is the most common fix for a phone that seems dead.
Check Your Charger and Cable
Your phone might have a completely drained battery. Plug it in using the included 100W SuperCharge brick and cable, then let it sit for at least 15 minutes. Don't just glance at it, give it a real chance to take in some power. If you see a charging icon or LED indicator, you're on the right track.
If nothing happens, try a different USB-C cable and a different wall adapter. Sometimes the issue is with the accessories, not the phone itself. Also, make sure the USB-C port on your Pura 70 Pro is clean and free of lint or debris, which can block the connection.
Attempt a Recovery Mode Boot
If the force restart didn't work, you can try booting into EMUI Recovery Mode. This is a built-in maintenance environment separate from the main operating system. To access it, first make sure your phone is powered off.
Then, press and hold the Power button and the Volume Up button at the same time. Release both buttons when you see the Huawei or HarmonyOS logo. You should then see a menu with options like 'Reboot', 'Wipe data/factory reset', and 'Wipe cache partition'. Use the Volume buttons to navigate and the Power button to select.
Clear the System Cache
From the Recovery Mode menu, navigate to the 'Wipe cache partition' option and select it with the Power button. This process deletes temporary system files that can sometimes become corrupted and prevent a normal boot. It doesn't touch your personal data like photos or messages.
Once the cache wipe is complete, select 'Reboot system now'. Your phone will attempt to start normally. I've seen this resolve boot issues after a problematic app installation or a minor software update hiccup.
Consider Recent App Installations
Since the Pura 70 Pro uses Huawei's AppGallery and not Google Play Services, some apps you've sideloaded from third-party sources might not be fully compatible with EMUI 14.2. A recently installed app with bad code could cause a system crash that prevents booting.
If you can get into Recovery Mode but a normal reboot fails, see if you can boot into Safe Mode. The method can vary, but often involves holding the Volume Down button while the phone is restarting. If the phone starts in Safe Mode (you'll usually see 'Safe Mode' in a corner), you know a third-party app is the culprit. You can then uninstall the most recently added apps.
Address a Completely Drained Battery
Lithium-ion batteries can enter a deep discharge state if left dead for too long. The 100W wired or 80W wireless SuperCharge is designed to wake them up quickly, but in rare cases, it might take longer. Leave the phone plugged into the official charger for a full hour, even with no screen activity.
For wireless charging, ensure you're using a compatible Huawei SuperCharge wireless pad. Other Qi chargers will work but at much slower speeds, which might not be enough to jump-start a deeply drained battery.
Perform a Factory Reset
This is your last resort before seeking repair, as it will erase everything on your phone. You'll need to access the Recovery Mode menu as described earlier. Navigate to 'Wipe data/factory reset' and confirm your selection.
The phone will reset itself to out-of-the-box condition. After it completes, choose the 'Reboot system now' option. If the phone boots up successfully to the initial setup screen, then the problem was almost certainly a software or data corruption issue.
