Taking a screenshot on your Redmi Note 14 Pro is a daily task, whether you're saving a funny chat, a travel itinerary, or an important error message. With Android 14 and Xiaomi's HyperOS, you have several quick and intuitive ways to do it, including a few special gestures that are second nature once you know them.
Press the Power and Volume Down Buttons
The classic method works perfectly on your Redmi Note 14 Pro. Just press the Power button and the Volume Down button at the same time. Hold them for a brief moment and then release. You'll see the screen flash, hear a camera shutter sound, and a small preview thumbnail will pop up in the corner of your display. This is the most reliable way to get a shot of exactly what you see.
Swipe Down with Three Fingers
This is often the fastest method on Xiaomi phones. Simply place three fingers anywhere on the screen and swipe down in one smooth motion. The screen will capture instantly. I find this gesture incredibly handy when you need to take a screenshot quickly with one hand, as it doesn't require you to fumble for the physical buttons on the frame.
If this doesn't work, the feature might be turned off. You can enable it by going to Settings > Additional settings > Buttons & gestures > Three-finger screenshot and toggling it on.
Use the Quick Settings Tile
Swipe down from the top of your screen twice to open the full Quick Settings panel. Look for a tile labeled Screenshot. If you don't see it, tap the pencil edit icon to enter edit mode, find the Screenshot tile in the list of available options, and drag it up into your active tiles. Once it's there, a single tap will capture your screen instantly.
Take a Screenshot from the Notification Shade
Here's a neat trick that works on HyperOS. After you take any screenshot, a notification for it will appear in your shade. If you pull down the notification shade, you'll often find a permanent Screenshot button right there in the quick action area at the top. Tapping this button is another effortless way to capture your screen without any gestures or button combos.
Capture Long Scrolling Screenshots
This is perfect for saving entire web pages or long chat histories. First, take a regular screenshot using any method. Immediately after, a preview bar will appear at the bottom of the screen. Tap the icon that says Scroll or has arrows pointing down.
The screen will automatically scroll and capture more content. Keep tapping the Scroll button until you've captured the entire section you want. It then stitches everything into one seamless, long image you can save or share. I've used this for capturing lengthy recipes and it works flawlessly.
Edit and Annotate Right Away
As soon as you take a screenshot, tap the preview thumbnail that appears. This opens Xiaomi's built-in editor. From here, you can crop the image, draw on it with different colors and brush sizes, add text, or blur sensitive information with the mosaic tool. It's a robust set of tools for quick edits without needing a separate app.
When you're done, tap the share icon to send it directly through WhatsApp, Gmail, or any other app. If you just want to save it, tap the checkmark and it will be stored in your gallery.
Find Your Saved Screenshots
All your screenshots are automatically saved and organized. Open the Gallery app on your Redmi Note 14 Pro. You'll likely see a dedicated Screenshots album right on the main albums view. Tapping it shows all your captures in chronological order.
You can also find the raw files through your file manager. Navigate to Internal storage > Pictures > Screenshots. This is useful if you're looking to move or back up a batch of screenshots to your computer or cloud storage.
