Capturing what's on your OnePlus 12 screen is a breeze, and you have a few different ways to do it. Whether you're saving a funny meme, documenting an error message, or sharing a part of a conversation, one of these methods will get the job done quickly.

Press the Power and Volume Down Buttons

The classic button combination works perfectly on your OnePlus 12. Just press the Power button and the Volume Down button at the exact same time. Hold them for a split second and then let go.

You'll see a quick flash on the screen and hear a shutter sound if your phone isn't on silent. A small preview thumbnail will pop up in the bottom-left corner, giving you instant options to edit or share.

Swipe Down with Three Fingers

This is the signature OnePlus gesture and often the fastest method. Simply place three fingers anywhere on the screen and swipe down in one smooth motion. The screenshot captures instantly.

It works from any app or home screen. If this gesture isn't working for you, you might need to enable it in your settings under Settings > Additional settings > Gestures & motions > Three-finger screenshot.

Use the Quick Settings Tile

Swipe down from the top of your screen twice to open the full Quick Settings panel. Look for a tile labeled Screenshot. If you don't see it, tap the pencil icon to edit your tiles.

You can then drag the Screenshot tile into your active panel. Once it's there, a single tap will capture your screen without you having to touch any buttons at all.

Take a Scrolling Screenshot

This is incredibly useful for capturing entire web pages or long chat histories. First, take a regular screenshot using any of the methods above.

Immediately after, look at the preview menu that appears at the bottom of your screen. Tap the icon that looks like a page with a downward arrow, labeled Scroll capture. Your phone will automatically scroll down and capture the next section.

You can keep tapping the Scroll capture button to extend the screenshot as far down the page as you need. It stitches everything into one seamless, long image.

Edit and Annotate Right Away

When the preview thumbnail appears after a screenshot, tap on it. This opens a powerful, built-in editor. You can crop the image, draw on it with different colors, add text, or use a highlighter.

There's also a blur tool, which is perfect for quickly obscuring sensitive information like phone numbers or addresses before you share it. When you're done, tap the share button to send it directly to an app or save it to your gallery.

All your screenshots are automatically saved and organized. Open the Gallery app on your OnePlus 12. You'll usually find a dedicated Screenshots album right on the main screen.

You can also find the image files directly through the Files app. Navigate to Internal storage > Pictures > Screenshots. From here, you can move, copy, or manage them like any other file.

What If the Buttons Don't Work?

If the physical button method isn't responding, a quick software refresh can help. Press and hold the Power button for about 10 seconds until the OnePlus logo appears, forcing the phone to restart.

After it boots back up, try the three-finger gesture or Quick Settings tile as an alternative. I've found that keeping your phone's software updated to the latest version of OxygenOS also helps ensure all these features work smoothly.
