For just $490, below its 30-day average of $512.20. The 90-day average sits at $404.59 and the 180-day average at $312.67, so this isn't the lowest the T7 Shield has ever been. But it's a clean discount off recent pricing for a drive that doesn't go on sale often.

What You're Getting

The T7 Shield is Samsung's ruggedized portable SSD built for photographers, content creators, and anyone working in less-than-ideal conditions. It hits read speeds up to 1,050 MB/s and write speeds up to 1,000 MB/s over USB 3.2 Gen 2, making it nearly twice as fast as the older T5. The IP65 rating means it shrugs off water and dust, and it survives drops from up to 9.8 feet. The 2TB capacity gives you room for large project files, RAW photos, or a game library.

It works with PC, Mac, Android devices, and gaming consoles.

Who This Is For

Best for: mobile creatives who edit in the field, travel photographers who need reliable offload storage, and console gamers looking to expand without sacrificing speed. If you need a workhorse drive that can handle a bumpy backpack or a dusty shoot location. This is the one.

Skip it if you're storing static backups at a desk and don't need the rugged build.

Final Verdict

The $490 price chops $22 off what it has averaged over the past month. For a 2TB rugged SSD with PCIe NVMe speeds and IP65 protection, that's a fair price for anyone who needs portable storage that can take a hit.
