For just $649, below its 30-day average of $698.86. Over the past 90 days, these headphones have averaged $728, making today's price a clear step down from recent levels. While not a record low. This is one of the better opportunities to grab MrSpeakers' flagship closed-back design without paying full retail.

What You're Getting

The Ether CX features MrSpeakers' patented V-Planar magnetic drivers that deliver ultra-low distortion, measuring under 0.5% in the low bass and under 0.1% from 60 Hz to 9 kHz. These closed-back headphones achieve an open soundstage typically associated with open-back designs while maintaining isolation and minimal sound leakage.

You get matched drivers with 23-ohm impedance, a detachable 6.4-foot cable, and included 3.5mm and 6.35mm adapters. The carbon fiber construction and ergonomic design reflect the boutique craftsmanship of Dan Clark's San Diego workshop.

Who This Is For

Best for: Audio professionals and serious enthusiasts who need closed-back isolation without sacrificing sound quality. These headphones excel in studio monitoring, critical listening sessions, and situations where you need to block external noise while maintaining audio fidelity.

The Caveat

At 23 ohms, these headphones require proper amplification to reach their full potential. While they'll work with most headphone outputs, you'll want a dedicated DAC/amp to experience the Ether CX's true capabilities. The wired-only design may disappoint those accustomed to Bluetooth freedom.

Final Verdict

For $49.86 less than its recent average, the Ether CX delivers boutique planar magnetic performance at a more approachable price. If you need professional-grade closed-back headphones with exceptional clarity and isolation, this discount makes the investment easier to justify.

Wait if you can hold out for deeper holiday discounts, but for current needs, this price works.
