This price sits well below the 30-day, 90-day, and 180-day averages, all of which clock in at $953.14. The M2 Air has been remarkably stable at retail since launch, so seeing it dip under $800 is worth a second look.

If you have been waiting for a non-holiday price cut on Apple's thinnest laptop. This is one of the better opportunities outside Black Friday windows.

What You're Getting

The redesigned M2 MacBook Air packs a 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display with 500 nits of brightness and P3 wide color. Under the hood is an 8-core CPU and up to 10-core GPU that handle everyday productivity, light creative work, and streaming without breaking a sweat.

Battery life stretches to 18 hours on a charge. The 1080p FaceTime HD camera and four-speaker system with Spatial Audio make this a solid choice for video calls and media consumption. The 2.7-pound chassis is genuinely portable enough to carry everywhere.

Who This Is For

Best for students, remote workers, and anyone who needs a lightweight daily driver for web apps, office tasks, and occasional light editing. The 8GB of unified memory is fine for browsing and document work but power users juggling multiple virtual machines or heavy creative suites should consider the 16GB or 24GB configurations.

If you can wait for back-to-school season, you might see a similar price, but this is a strong buy if you need a Mac right now.

The Caveat

The base model ships with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. That is enough for most casual users, but heavy multitaskers and people who store large media libraries locally will want to step up to a higher-tier configuration.

There is no active cooling fan, so sustained heavy workloads may trigger thermal throttling.

Final Verdict

For $779, the M2 MacBook Air delivers the core Mac laptop experience at a price that undercuts the current M4 model by hundreds of dollars. If your workflow fits within 8GB of RAM and you value portability and battery life above raw performance. This is the deal to grab.
