A blurry camera on your Samsung Galaxy S25+ can ruin a perfect shot, whether it's a slight softness or a completely out-of-focus mess. The issue might pop up on just the main lens, appear in specific modes like Portrait, or make everything look hazy. Before you worry about a hardware problem, there are several software and simple fixes to try first.

Clean the Camera Lenses

This is the most common fix and the easiest one to overlook. Use a soft, lint-free microfiber cloth to gently wipe all the camera lenses on the back of your phone. Fingerprints, dust, and smudges on the lens will directly cause blurry, foggy photos. I'd avoid using your shirt or a paper towel, as they can leave micro-scratches on the lens coating over time.

Remove Your Phone Case

Some cases, particularly third-party ones, don't have a perfectly aligned cutout for the S25+'s camera array. A case can partially cover the edge of a lens or press a plastic screen protector against it, creating a blur. Take the case off and snap a test photo to see if the clarity improves.

Tap to Focus on Your Subject

Open the Camera app and simply tap on the screen where your main subject is. You'll see a focus box appear. The phone's autofocus might be locking onto the background instead of what you want. For more control, tap and hold on the subject to lock the focus and exposure (AE/AF Lock), which is great for keeping focus steady.

Switch Between Camera Lenses

Try manually switching lenses in the Camera app. Tap the tree icon for the ultrawide, the standard view for the main lens, or use the 2x or 3x zoom for the telephoto. If only one lens is consistently blurry while the others are sharp, the issue is isolated to that specific sensor or its lens cover, which might just need a better cleaning.

Force Close and Reopen the Camera App

Swipe up from the bottom of the screen and hold to enter the recent apps view. Find the Camera app and swipe it away to close it completely. Then, reopen it from your home screen or app drawer. A temporary software glitch in the app can cause the autofocus motors or image processing to malfunction.

Perform a Force Restart

If closing the app didn't help, a full restart of the system often clears deeper glitches. Press and hold the Volume Down button and the Side button simultaneously for about 10 seconds. Release when you see the Samsung logo, and the phone will reboot. This resets all background processes, including those for the camera.

Check for and Disable Any Special Modes

Certain camera settings can affect focus. In the Camera app's "More" section, check if you're in a mode like Pro Video or Single Take, which might have different focus behaviors. Also, go to Settings > Advanced features > Labs and see if any experimental camera features are enabled that could be interfering.

Look for Lens Condensation

Moving your phone from a cold environment to a warm, humid one can cause condensation to form on or inside the camera lenses, creating a permanent foggy blur in your photos. Let the phone sit at room temperature for 15-20 minutes to acclimate. Don't try to wipe the inside of the lens or blow on it, as that can make it worse.

Update Your Phone's Software

Go to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Samsung frequently releases updates that include camera performance improvements and bug fixes. A known autofocus issue with the S25+ might already have a patch waiting for you.

Reset the Camera App Settings

If a custom setting is causing the problem, resetting the app can help. Open the Camera app, tap the settings gear icon, and scroll all the way down to find "Reset settings." This will revert all your camera preferences to default without deleting any of your photos.
