When your Samsung Galaxy A26 5G gets stuck on the Samsung logo during startup, it's easy to panic. The logo just hangs there, sometimes with a spinning animation that never finishes. This usually happens after a system update fails, an app crashes during boot, or a software glitch takes hold. Here's how to get past it.

Wait Before You Do Anything

Give the phone at least 15 minutes. After a major One UI 7 update, the Galaxy A26 5G can sit on the logo screen while it finishes optimizing apps in the background. If you see the Samsung logo with a loading indicator, it's still working. Plug it into a charger and let it sit. Interrupting this mid-process can actually make things worse.

Force Restart the Phone

If the logo has been stuck for more than 20 minutes with no movement, a force restart is your first real fix. Press and hold the Volume Down and Power buttons simultaneously for about 10-15 seconds until the device restarts. This mimics a battery pull and forces the system to reboot fresh. Most of the time, this breaks the boot loop and gets you back to the lock screen.

Boot into Recovery Mode and Clear the Cache

If force restart doesn't work, recovery mode gives you more control. Power the phone off completely. Then press and hold Volume Up and Power together until the Samsung logo appears, then release. You'll see the Android recovery menu with a list of options.

Use the volume buttons to navigate to Wipe cache partition and press the Power button to select it. This clears temporary system files that can cause boot issues without touching your personal data. After it finishes, select Reboot system now. This fix is especially effective on the Galaxy A26 5G if the boot loop started after a recent app update.

Check Your Charger and Cable

A weak or failing battery can prevent the phone from booting past the logo. The Galaxy A26 5G uses USB-C and supports 25W wired charging with USB PD 3.0 and PPS. If you're using an old charger or a damaged cable, the phone might not get enough power to complete the boot sequence.

Try a different USB-C cable and a USB PD 3.0 charger with PPS support. Inspect the charging port on the phone for lint or debris. A quick clean with a wooden toothpick can clear out pocket lint that stops the charger from making good contact. Leave the phone plugged in for at least 30 minutes before attempting to boot again.

Boot into Safe Mode

A third-party app can sometimes corrupt the boot process. Safe mode loads only the system apps and disables everything you've installed. To get into safe mode, press and hold the Power button until the power menu appears. Then tap and hold Power off until you see the safe mode prompt. Tap Safe mode to confirm.

If the phone boots normally in safe mode, a downloaded app is causing the problem. Uninstall any apps you installed right before the issue started. Restart the phone normally to see if the boot loop is gone.

Disable Fast Charging

Some Galaxy A26 5G units have a known issue where fast charging causes the phone to overheat, triggering a safety shutdown that can lead to boot problems. If you can get the phone on long enough to change settings, go to Settings > Battery > Charging and turn off fast charging. This stabilizes the charging process and reduces heat buildup during boot.

Factory Reset from Recovery Mode

If nothing else works, a factory reset will wipe the phone clean and fix any software corruption. This erases everything on the phone, so only do this if you've backed up or accepted the data loss. Boot into recovery mode again using the Volume Up and Power method.

Navigate to Wipe data/factory reset using the volume keys and select it with Power. Confirm on the next screen. This returns the Galaxy A26 5G to its out-of-box state. After it finishes, select Reboot system now. The phone should boot fresh, though you'll need to set it up from scratch.

Check for Hardware Problems

If the phone still won't boot past the logo after a factory reset, the issue is likely hardware-related. A damaged logic board, failed storage chip, or even a swollen battery can prevent the phone from completing startup. The Galaxy A26 5G doesn't have a removable battery, so you can't easily swap it to test. At this point, the phone needs professional diagnosis to determine if repair is possible.
