If your POCO X7 Pro has suddenly gone silent and stopped vibrating for calls or notifications, it's a surprisingly common hiccup. The good news is that it's almost always a software or settings issue you can fix yourself in a few minutes.
Force Restart Your Phone
This is the quickest thing to try and often solves the problem instantly. A force restart clears out any temporary glitches in the system that might be stopping the vibration motor.
Just press and hold the Power button for about 15 seconds. Keep holding it until you see the POCO or HyperOS logo appear on the screen, then you can let go. Your phone will boot back up normally.
Check Your Sound and Vibration Profile
On HyperOS, your phone has different sound profiles that control vibration. Swipe down from the top of your screen twice to open the full Quick Settings panel. Look for the tile that says "Sound" or "Vibrate".
Make sure it's set to "Sound" mode. If it's set to "Silent" or "Do Not Disturb", your phone won't vibrate for most notifications. Tap the tile to cycle through the modes until it's back on "Sound".
Verify the Main Vibration Switch
Sometimes the main toggle for vibration gets turned off. Open your Settings app and go to Sounds & vibration. On this main menu, look for an option called "Vibrate on tap" or "Vibrate for calls".
Make sure these are switched on. If they're already on, try turning them off and back on again. This can refresh the connection to the vibration motor.
Adjust Vibration Intensity
The POCO X7 Pro lets you control how strong the vibrations are. If the intensity was accidentally set too low, you might not feel it. Go back to Settings > Sounds & vibration.
Look for "Vibration intensity" or a similar menu. Inside, you'll find sliders for call vibration, notification vibration, and touch feedback. Slide them all up to the maximum setting and test if you can feel a difference.
Inspect App-Specific Notification Settings
If your phone vibrates for some apps but not others, the problem is with that app's notification settings. Go to Settings > Apps > Manage apps and find the app that's not vibrating, like your messaging app.
Tap on the app, then select "Notifications". Here, make sure notifications are enabled for the app overall. Then, tap into specific notification categories (like "New messages") and ensure the "Vibrate" option is checked within each one.
Update Your HyperOS Software
Outdated software can have bugs that affect hardware functions like the vibration motor. It's worth checking for an update. Go to Settings > About phone > HyperOS version.
Tap on "Check for updates". If an update is available, download and install it. The large 6000mAh battery in your X7 Pro means you can do this without worrying about running out of power mid-update.
Test in Safe Mode
This will tell you if a third-party app you installed is causing the conflict. To boot into Safe Mode, press and hold the Power button until the power menu appears.
Then, press and hold the "Power off" option on your screen. A prompt will appear asking if you want to reboot to Safe Mode. Tap "OK". If the vibration works normally in Safe Mode, you'll need to find and uninstall the problematic app.
Check for Interference from Battery Saver or Gaming Modes
Aggressive battery saving settings or performance profiles can sometimes disable vibrations to save power. Go to Settings > Battery and make sure you're not on an extreme power saving mode.
Also, if you use Game Turbo for better gaming performance, check its settings. Sometimes gaming modes suppress notifications and vibrations. Exit any active game mode and see if the vibration returns.
Reset All Settings
This will revert all your system settings (like Wi-Fi passwords and ringtones) back to default without deleting your personal data. It can clear out any corrupted settings causing the issue.
Go to Settings > About phone > Factory reset. Then, select "Reset all settings" (not "Erase all data"). Confirm your choice and let the phone reboot. You'll need to reconfigure your preferences, but your apps and files will be safe.
Consider a Hardware Test
If none of the software fixes work, it's time to consider the vibration motor itself. While the POCO X7 Pro doesn't have a built-in diagnostic menu like some brands, you can try a simple test.
Install a free app from the Play Store like "Vibration Test" or "Phone Tester". These apps have tools to manually activate the vibration motor at full strength. If the app can't make the phone vibrate at all, the motor or its connection might be faulty.
