Seeing that "No Service" or "Emergency Calls Only" message on your POCO X7 Pro is a real roadblock. It cuts you off from calls, texts, and mobile data, turning a powerful phone into a Wi-Fi-only device. The good news is this is usually a temporary glitch you can fix yourself.

Before we get into the detailed steps, the single most effective thing you can do is a force restart. Just press and hold the power button on the right side of your POCO X7 Pro for about 15 seconds. Keep holding it even after you see the power menu or feel a vibration. The screen will go black and the phone will reboot. This simple action clears out temporary software bugs that often cause network issues.

Check Your Basic Connection Settings

After the restart, swipe down from the top of your screen twice to open the full Quick Settings panel. Make sure the airplane icon for Airplane Mode isn't highlighted. If it is, tap it to turn it off. Right next to it, also tap the mobile data icon to turn it off, wait a few seconds, and then tap it again to turn it back on.

Sometimes, the phone just needs to re-register with the network tower. You can manually trigger this. Go to Settings > Mobile network. Tap on your SIM card at the top, then tap Network operators. Turn off the "Select automatically" toggle, let it search for a moment, and then select your carrier's name from the list. After it connects, go back and turn "Select automatically" on again.

Inspect Your SIM Card

A loose, dirty, or faulty SIM card is a very common culprit for the no service error. The POCO X7 Pro uses a nano-SIM card. You'll need the SIM eject tool that came in the box (a small paperclip works in a pinch) to open the tray on the bottom edge of the phone.

Gently remove the SIM card and take a close look at the gold contacts. If you see any dust, lint, or discoloration, wipe them gently with a clean, dry, soft cloth. Blow into the SIM tray slot as well to clear any debris. Carefully reinsert the SIM, making sure it's seated firmly in the tray the correct way, and push the tray back in until it clicks.

Update Your Access Point Name (APN)

Your phone needs the correct APN settings, which are like an address, to find your carrier's network. If these get corrupted or are wrong, you'll lose service. To check them, go to Settings > Mobile network > SIM cards & mobile networks.

Tap on your active SIM, then scroll down and tap Access Point Names. If the list is empty or the settings look wrong, tap the three dots in the top right and select Reset to default. If that doesn't populate the correct settings, you'll need to get them directly from your mobile carrier's website or customer service and enter them manually by tapping the "+" icon.

Reset Your Network Settings

This is a more thorough step that clears all network-related configurations without touching your personal photos, messages, or apps. It will delete saved Wi-Fi passwords and paired Bluetooth devices, so be ready to reconnect to those later.

On your POCO X7 Pro, navigate to Settings > About phone. Scroll down and tap Reset phone. On the next screen, select Reset network settings. Confirm your choice, and your phone will reboot. Once it's back on, give it a minute to re-establish a cellular connection.

Use the Phone Information Menu

Android has a built-in diagnostic tool that's very useful for network issues. Open your phone's dialer app and type *#*#4636#*#*. This should automatically open the "Testing" menu. Tap on Phone information.

On this screen, you'll see a lot of technical data. First, make sure the "Mobile radio power" toggle is ON. Then, look for a dropdown menu that might say "Set preferred network type." Tap it and select NR/LTE/WCDMA/GSM (Auto) to ensure your POCO X7 Pro is using all available network technologies. Don't change anything else here unless you're sure what it does.

Check for Software Updates

HyperOS 2 on the POCO X7 Pro receives periodic updates that often include fixes for connectivity bugs and other stability improvements. It's worth checking if you're running the latest software. Go to Settings > About phone > HyperOS version.

Tap the "Check for updates" button. If an update is available, I'd recommend connecting to a stable Wi-Fi network and installing it. The large 6000mAh battery in the X7 Pro means you can run through an update without worrying about running out of power mid-process.

Consider Your Physical Environment and SIM

If you're in a basement, a building with thick walls, or a rural area, you might simply be in a low-coverage zone. Try moving to a window or a different location to see if service returns. It's also a good idea to check if there's a widespread outage with your carrier by visiting their website or social media pages.

Finally, the issue might be with the SIM card itself. If you have access to another unlocked phone, try putting your SIM card in it. If the other phone also shows no service, the problem is with your SIM or your carrier account. Contact your carrier's support; they can check your account status and often send you a replacement SIM for free, which usually solves it.
