When your POCO X7 Pro starts dropping apps left and right, it can really kill your flow. Whether you're in the middle of a game or trying to send a message, that sudden crash is a major annoyance. The good news is that on Android 15 with HyperOS 2, you've got plenty of tools to get things running smoothly again.

Restart Your POCO X7 Pro

This is almost always my first move. A simple restart clears out temporary glitches in the system memory that can cause apps to misbehave. Just press and hold the power button until the power menu pops up, then tap restart. If the screen is completely frozen, you can force a restart by holding the power button down for about 15 seconds until you feel the phone vibrate and see the POCO logo.

Update the Problem Apps

App developers are constantly pushing out updates to squash bugs. An outdated app is a common culprit for crashes. Head to the Google Play Store, tap your profile icon in the top right, and go to Manage apps & device. Under the "Updates available" section, you can update everything at once or pick and choose. I'd recommend doing them all to be thorough.

Force Stop and Relaunch

If a specific app is acting up, force stopping it is like giving it a hard reboot. Go to Settings > Apps, find the troublesome app in the list, and tap on it. On the app info page, you'll see a "Force stop" button. Tap it, then open the app again fresh from your home screen. This kills any background processes that might have gotten stuck.

Clear the App's Cache

Over time, an app's cache, the temporary files it uses to load faster, can become corrupted. Clearing it forces the app to rebuild these files from scratch. It won't delete your login info or saved data. Go back to Settings > Apps, select the app, and tap Storage & cache. Hit "Clear cache." Try the app again. If it's still crashing, you can try "Clear storage" next, but know that this will log you out and reset the app to its default state.

Check Your Internet Connection

Some apps, especially social media and streaming services, will crash or freeze if they can't maintain a stable connection. Toggle your Wi-Fi off and on, or try switching to mobile data for a moment to see if the problem persists. If you're using Game Turbo for a better gaming experience, make sure your connection is solid, as lag can sometimes be mistaken for an app crash.

Free Up Storage Space on Your Device

The POCO X7 Pro doesn't have expandable storage, so what you buy is what you get. If your internal storage is nearly full, apps won't have room to operate properly. Go to Settings > Storage to see what's eating up space. Consider offloading old photos and videos to the cloud, deleting downloaded files you don't need, or uninstalling apps you haven't used in months. That massive 6000mAh battery is great for endurance, but it doesn't help with storage management.

Reinstall the App Completely

When clearing cache and data doesn't cut it, a fresh install is the next step. Uninstalling removes all the app's files and settings from your phone. Long-press the app icon on your home screen and tap uninstall, or drag it to the uninstall option at the top of the screen. Then, head back to the Play Store to download it again. This gives you a completely clean slate.

Update HyperOS and Android

System updates often include important stability patches and compatibility fixes for apps. POCO rolls out HyperOS updates periodically. To check, go to Settings > About phone > HyperOS version and tap the "Check for updates" button. If an update is available, install it. Make sure your phone is charged above 50% and connected to Wi-Fi before starting.

Check for Conflicting Apps or Settings

Sometimes, one app can interfere with another. Think about any new apps you installed just before the crashes started. You could try booting your phone into Safe Mode to disable all third-party apps temporarily. Press and hold the power button, then long-press the "Power off" option on your screen until you see the Safe Mode prompt. If the crashes stop in Safe Mode, a downloaded app is likely the cause.

Reset All App Preferences

This is a less nuclear option than a factory reset. It resets all your app-related settings, like permissions, default apps, and background data restrictions, back to their original defaults without deleting any personal data. Go to Settings > Apps > Reset app preferences. You'll have to re-grant permissions to apps afterward, but it can resolve weird conflicts causing crashes.
