Seeing the "SIM Card Not Provisioned MM2" error on your OnePlus Nord 4 can stop you from making calls or using mobile data right when you need it. This message means your phone can't connect your SIM card to your mobile carrier's network, which is usually a temporary setup or account issue.
I'd start by checking if the SIM is activated, as that's the most common fix for this error.
Restart Your OnePlus Nord 4
A simple restart can clear out any temporary software glitches that might be blocking the network connection. Just press and hold the power button on the side of your phone, then tap "Restart" on the screen.
If the phone is unresponsive, you can force a restart by holding the power button down for about 10 seconds until you feel it vibrate and the screen turns back on.
Check SIM Card Activation and Account Status
If this is a brand new SIM card or you just switched it to your Nord 4, it might not be activated yet. You'll need to contact your carrier directly to check.
They can confirm if the SIM is active on your account. This is also the time to verify your account has sufficient balance, especially if you're on a prepaid plan, as non-payment can suspend service.
Reinsert the SIM Card
The metal unibody design of the Nord 4 is solid, but the SIM tray can still get a bit misaligned. Power the phone off completely first.
Use the SIM ejector tool that came in the box to pop out the tray. Take a look at the gold contacts on the SIM card for any dust or scratches, give it a gentle wipe with a soft cloth, and firmly reseat it in the tray before sliding it back in.
Refresh the Network Connection
Switching Airplane mode on and off forces your phone to search for the network from scratch. Swipe down from the top of your screen to open the Quick Settings panel and tap the airplane icon.
Wait about 30 seconds, then tap it again to turn it off. You should see the network signal bars reappear as it reconnects.
If that doesn't work, try manually selecting your network. Go to Settings > Mobile network > Network operators. Tap "Search networks" and then choose your specific carrier from the list that appears, instead of leaving it on "Automatic".
Update Software and Carrier Services
An outdated system can sometimes cause conflicts with your carrier's network. Check for a software update by going to Settings > About device > OxygenOS version.
Tap on "Download and install" if an update is available. While you're at it, open the Google Play Store, search for "Carrier Services", and make sure that app is also updated to the latest version.
Reset Your Network Settings
This will clear all your saved Wi-Fi networks, Bluetooth pairings, and mobile network data back to default, which can resolve deeper configuration errors. You won't lose any personal photos or apps.
On your Nord 4, navigate to Settings > Additional settings > Back up and reset. Tap on "Reset phone", then select "Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth". Confirm your choice and let the phone restart.
Test the SIM Card in Another Phone
To figure out if the problem is with the SIM or the phone itself, try your SIM card in a different, unlocked phone. If the error follows the SIM to the other device, you know the issue is with the card or your carrier account.
If the SIM works perfectly in another phone, then the focus shifts to your Nord 4. At that point, reaching out to your mobile provider's customer support is your best next step. They can run diagnostics, check for network outages in your area, or send you a replacement SIM if the card itself is faulty.
