Net10 Wireless is part of the Tracfone family of Verizon-owned prepaid brands, and like Tracfone itself, it can operate on Verizon, AT&T, or T-Mobile depending on which SIM you activated. Most Net10 lines today are on AT&T, which means the APN value tfdata covers the majority of users.
Before getting into the settings: Net10 is in the middle of a phase-out. Verizon is no longer signing up new Net10 customers and is steering existing customers toward Simple Mobile and other Verizon-owned prepaid brands. If you are an existing Net10 customer, your line still works and the APN values below still apply. If you are looking to sign up for new service, Simple Mobile (or Total Wireless) is the replacement Verizon is pointing customers to.
Here is the verified setup for all three underlying networks, plus how to figure out which one your SIM uses.
Net10 Wireless Network Overview
- Net10 Wireless is Verizon-owned through the Tracfone family acquisition in November 2021. It currently operates as a multi-network MVNO across AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile, although the brand is being phased out and no longer accepts new customers in most states. California customers can continue service through November 2026 under California consumer-protection rules.
- The most common Android APN is tfdata, the shared Tracfone-family value used on AT&T-network lines. Verizon and T-Mobile Net10 lines use different APN values.
- iPhones running iOS 15 or later auto-configure Net10 through Apple's carrier-bundles system on most underlying networks.
- For the fastest setup, text APN to 611611 from your Net10 number. Net10 pushes a configuration message back; tap it to install.
Finding the APN Menu
Determine your underlying network first. The SIM packaging and activation email both state it. If neither is available, the carrier name in the phone's status bar or a quick call to Net10 support resolves it.
Android
- 1.Open Settings
- 2.Tap Connections (Samsung) or Network & Internet
- 3.Tap Mobile Networks, then your Net10 SIM if dual-SIM
- 4.Tap Access Point Names
- 5.Tap the three-dot menu, then New APN
- 6.Enter the values from the matching network list below
- 7.Tap Save, then select the new APN to activate it
- 8.Restart the phone
iPhone and iPad
- 1.Open Settings
- 2.Tap Cellular or Mobile Data
- 3.Tap Cellular Data Network if visible
- 4.Enter iPhone values from the matching list below (rarely needed)
- 5.If the menu is missing on a Verizon-network line, that is normal; the editor stays locked. Run Reset Network Settings if data fails

Net10 iPhone APN Values
If your iPhone needs manual entry (rare), use the APN value matching your underlying network from the Android lists above. The MMS Max Message Size on iPhone is 1048576 (1 MB) across all networks. MMS UA Prof URL is http://www.apple.com/mms/uaprof.rdf on all networks.
For Verizon-network Net10 lines on iPhone, the APN editor is typically hidden by Verizon's carrier profile. That is normal. Reset Network Settings is the troubleshooting path when data fails, not manual APN entry.
Identifying Your Underlying Network
Three ways to figure out which network your Net10 SIM uses:
- Check the activation email or SIM packaging. Net10 states the underlying network when shipping the SIM.
- Look at the carrier name in your phone's status bar. It often briefly shows the underlying carrier during boot or after a reboot.
- Call Net10 customer service. The underlying network is on file for every active line.
If you brought a phone to Net10 and the phone is locked to a different network, the SIM may not work at all. Locked phones need an unlock from the original carrier before Net10's profile installs properly.
Common Net10 APN Issues
- After saving the Android APN, reboot the phone. Net10 sometimes does not switch to the new entry until the device re-registers with the underlying network.
- Confirm the APN value matches your network.
tfdataon a Verizon line will not connect, and vice versa. - Text APN to 611611 from your Net10 number for an auto-configuration push. This usually works without any manual entry.
- For iPhone, install any pending Carrier Settings update at Settings > General > About.
- If MMS fails on an AT&T line, double-check the MMS Proxy. Net10 uses
proxy.mobile.att.netas a hostname. - If your phone moved from another carrier to Net10, run Reset Network Settings to clear old APN entries.
- If activation completed but data still fails, contact Net10 support to confirm the line is fully provisioned.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Net10 the same as Tracfone?
Net10 is part of the Tracfone family of brands, all now owned by Verizon since 2021. The underlying infrastructure is shared, but Net10 has its own plans, branding, and customer service. APN values overlap with Tracfone on each underlying network. Net10 itself is being phased out by Verizon; new customers are directed to Simple Mobile or other Verizon-owned prepaid brands.
Why is the Net10 AT&T APN named tfdata?
tfdata stands for Tracfone Data. The shared back-end identifier is used across Net10, Straight Talk, Tracfone, and other Tracfone-family brands on AT&T-network lines. Spelling is case-sensitive, all lowercase.
Do I need a different APN for 5G on Net10?
No. The same APN handles 4G LTE and 5G on each underlying network. To pull 5G, enable 5G in your phone's network mode settings and confirm your plan includes 5G access.
Can I switch from Net10's AT&T network to Verizon network?
No. Net10 SIMs are network-specific. Contact Net10 customer service to request a new SIM provisioned for the target network. Your account and number stay intact.
What does the 611611 number do?
Texting APN to 611611 from your Net10 number triggers an automatic configuration push from Net10's network. The message arrives within a few minutes; tap it to install the correct settings without manual entry.
My iPhone shows no APN editor on a Verizon Net10 line. Is that broken?
No. Verizon hides the APN editor on iPhones by design. Net10 inherits this behavior on its Verizon-network lines. The fix for connectivity issues is a Reset Network Settings or Carrier Settings update, not manual APN entry.
What does MMS Max Message Size 1048576 mean?
It is the MMS attachment size cap in bytes, exactly 1 MB. It is the standard limit across US carriers including Net10 on all three underlying networks.
