When the volume buttons on your Huawei Pura 70 Pro stop responding, it can leave you scrambling to adjust calls or media. You press the rocker, but nothing happens. The good news is that most of the time, this is a software hiccup or a simple obstruction that you can fix yourself without a trip to a service center.
Before you assume the worst, work through these practical solutions. I'd start with the first few, as they resolve the majority of cases.
Remove Your Phone Case
This is always the first thing to check. Take off your phone case completely. Some cases, especially thicker or ill-fitting ones, can press against the volume rocker and prevent it from moving properly.
Inspect the case's button cutouts for any warping or debris. With the case off, test the buttons again to see if they click and respond normally.
Perform a Force Restart
A force restart is the go-to fix for any weird software glitch on the Pura 70 Pro, including unresponsive buttons. It clears the phone's temporary memory without touching your personal data.
For the Huawei Pura 70 Pro, you simply press and hold the Power button for about 10 seconds or longer. Keep holding it until you see the Huawei logo appear on the screen, then you can release it. The phone will boot up normally.
Clean the Volume Buttons
Dust, lint, and pocket debris are common culprits. Over time, they can get packed into the small gap around the volume rocker, making it feel mushy or stuck.
Use a can of compressed air to blow gently around the edges of the button. For any sticky residue, lightly dampen a cotton swab with isopropyl alcohol and carefully clean around the button, being sure not to let any liquid seep inside. Let it dry completely before testing.
Test the Buttons in Different Apps

Check Your Sound Settings
