Seeing your Huawei Pura 70 Pro stuck on the startup logo is a stressful experience. The screen just sits there, showing the Huawei or Pura logo without ever moving to the home screen. This boot loop is usually triggered by a failed software update, a corrupted app, or a system file conflict, especially given the unique nature of EMUI 14.2 and its HarmonyOS base. The good news is you can almost always get it working again.

Force Restart Your Phone

This is the first and most effective step. A simple force restart can break the stuck boot cycle. Press and hold the Power button for at least 10 seconds, or until you feel the phone vibrate and see the screen go black before the logo reappears. I'd start with this one, as it resolves a lot of temporary glitches without any data loss.

Wait It Out After an Update

If this happened right after installing a system update, be patient. The Pura 70 Pro can take a surprisingly long time to optimize apps and finalize the installation process after a major EMUI update. Leave it plugged into its included 100W SuperCharge adapter and wait for at least 20-30 minutes. If you see any animation or a progress indicator, do not interrupt it.

Boot into eRecovery Mode

If the force restart didn't work, you need to access eRecovery mode. First, connect your phone to a charger or a computer using a USB-C cable. Then, press and hold the Volume Up button and the Power button simultaneously until the Huawei eRecovery screen appears (you'll see an EMUI logo and options).

Use the volume buttons to navigate and the power button to select. Choose Download latest version and recovery. This will download and reinstall the firmware over Wi-Fi without erasing your personal data. This process requires a stable Wi-Fi connection and can take a while.

Use HiSuite on a Computer

If eRecovery doesn't work or you can't connect to Wi-Fi, Huawei's HiSuite software on a Windows PC or Mac is your next best tool. Install HiSuite on your computer, then connect your powered-off Pura 70 Pro with a USB-C cable. Press and hold the Volume Down button and keep holding it while you connect the cable to the phone; this should boot it into fastboot mode.

HiSuite should detect a phone in recovery status. It will offer a System Repair option. Follow the on-screen instructions to download the correct firmware package and repair the installation. Like eRecovery, this method aims to preserve your data.

Perform a Factory Reset (Erases Data)

Warning: This will delete all data on your phone. If the software repair options fail, a factory reset from recovery is the last software fix. With the phone off, press and hold the Volume Up button and the Power button to enter the EMUI recovery menu.

Navigate using the volume keys and select Wipe data/factory reset with the power button. Confirm your choice. After the reset is complete, select Reboot system now. This will boot the phone into its fresh, out-of-the-box state.

Check for Problematic Apps

If your phone boots successfully after any of these fixes, consider what might have caused it. A recently installed app from the Huawei AppGallery or a sideloaded APK that isn't fully compatible with EMUI 14.2 can cause system instability. Boot into Safe Mode by pressing the power button, then long-pressing the "Power off" option on-screen until the Safe Mode prompt appears.

If the phone starts normally in Safe Mode, a third-party app is the culprit. Uninstall your most recent downloads one by one until the problem stops.

Ensure Adequate Storage Space

A failed update is a common cause, often because the phone ran out of space during the installation. Once your phone is working, immediately check your storage in Settings > Storage. For future major EMUI updates, try to have at least 10GB of free space to allow the update process to complete smoothly without corruption.

Consider a Hardware Issue

If the phone does not respond to any button combinations, shows no signs of charging, or consistently fails during firmware recovery attempts, the problem could be physical. This is rare, but possible issues include a faulty logic board, damaged storage, or a problem with the power circuit. In this case, contacting Huawei support or a professional repair service for diagnosis is the necessary step.
