Taking a screenshot on your Xiaomi 15 is one of those everyday tasks you'll use more than you think. Whether you're saving a funny meme, capturing an important piece of information, or sharing a bug report, HyperOS 2 gives you several quick ways to do it.

Use the Classic Button Combo

The most reliable method is the universal Android shortcut. Simply press the Power button and the Volume Down button together for a brief moment. You'll see a quick flash, hear a shutter sound, and a small preview will pop up in the corner of your screen. This method works from any app or screen, even the lock screen.

Swipe Down with Three Fingers

This is the signature gesture method for Xiaomi and Redmi phones. Just place three fingers anywhere on the screen and swipe down in one smooth motion. The screen will capture instantly. I find this is the fastest method when you're reading an article or in a game and don't want to fumble with buttons.

If this doesn't work, you may need to enable it. Go to Settings > Additional settings > Buttons & gestures and toggle on Three-finger screenshot.

Use the Quick Settings Tile

Swipe down from the top of your screen twice to open the full Quick Settings panel. Look for a tile labeled Screenshot. If you don't see it, tap the pencil edit icon to customize your tiles. You can then drag the Screenshot tile into your active panel for one-tap access anytime.

Take a Screenshot from the Recent Apps Menu

Swipe up from the bottom and hold to enter the recent apps overview. You'll see a list of your open apps. At the bottom of each app card, you should see a Screenshot button. Tap it to capture that specific app window. This is perfect for capturing something in an app without accidentally including your notification bar or navigation buttons.

Ask Google Assistant

When your hands are full or the buttons are inconvenient, just say, "Hey Google, take a screenshot." Your phone will capture the screen immediately. You can also activate Google Assistant by holding the power button or swiping from a corner, then type the command. The screenshot saves directly to your gallery.

Capture Long Scrolling Screenshots

This is a powerful feature for saving entire webpages or long chats. First, take a regular screenshot using any method. As soon as the preview thumbnail appears in the corner, tap on it. At the bottom of the editing toolbar, tap the icon that looks like a rectangle with a downward arrow, labeled Scroll.

Your screen will automatically scroll and capture more content. Keep tapping the Scroll button until you've captured everything you need. It then stitches it all into one seamless, long image you can edit and share.

Edit and Annotate Immediately

Right after taking a screenshot, tap the floating preview thumbnail. This opens HyperOS's built-in editor. You can crop, draw with different colors and brush sizes, add text, or blur sensitive information with the mosaic tool. It's quite robust for quick edits.

From there, tap the share icon to send it directly through any app like WhatsApp or Gmail. If you ignore the preview, the screenshot saves automatically and the thumbnail disappears after a few seconds.

All your screenshots are neatly organized. Open the Gallery app and look for an album named Screenshots. You can also find them through the file manager by navigating to Internal storage > Pictures > Screenshots.

If you use Google Photos as your main gallery, they'll also appear there in the Library tab under the Screenshots category. The Xiaomi 15 saves them in high resolution, so they look great when shared or viewed later.
