You can grab a screenshot on the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge without pressing a single button. The phone has several gesture-based tricks built into One UI 7 that make capturing your screen feel natural. Here are the best ways to do it.
Use the Palm Swipe Gesture
This is the signature gesture for Samsung phones, and it works perfectly on the S25 Edge. Go to Settings > Advanced features > Motions and gestures and toggle on Palm swipe to capture. Once it's active, just swipe the edge of your hand from one side of the screen to the other.
It takes a couple tries to get the angle right, but it's incredibly fast once you do. You don't have to squeeze the phone or reach for buttons. It's a great option for one-handed use on the larger display.
Try the Button Combo
The physical button method still works on the S25 Edge if you prefer something more tactile. Press and hold the Side button (power) and the Volume Down button simultaneously for a split second. The screen flashes and the screenshot saves automatically.
This works even if you have the Side button set to wake Bixby. The phone prioritizes the button combo, so you won't accidentally trigger an assistant.
The Edge Panel Is Your Friend
The curved display on the S25 Edge makes the Edge panel feel especially natural to swipe out. Swipe the handle on the side of your screen to open it, then select Smart select.
You can draw a rectangle, circle an area, or even capture a GIF of a video playing on screen. It's the best way to capture exactly what you need without cropping later. If the Edge panel isn't active, you can enable it in Settings > Display > Edge panels.
Quick Settings Has a Handy Shortcut
Swipe down from the top of the screen twice to open the full Quick Settings panel. Look for the Screenshot tile. If it's not there, tap the edit button (the pencil icon) and drag the Screenshot tile into your active list.
Tap it anytime you need a quick capture. It's a good backup if the palm gesture isn't registering for some reason. The tile sits right in your notification shade for instant access.
Use Voice Commands
Your hands are full or dirty? Just use your voice. Say "Hey Google, take a screenshot" or "Hi Bixby, take a screenshot" and your phone captures whatever is on the display. This saves directly to your Gallery without any extra steps.
Voice commands are also useful when you're wearing gloves or cooking and can't touch the screen. The S25 Edge's microphones pick up the command clearly even in moderately noisy environments.
Capture Long Content
After you take any screenshot, a small toolbar appears at the bottom of the screen. Tap the scroll capture icon (two downward arrows) to start extending the screenshot. The page scrolls down automatically, and you can keep tapping the icon to go further.
This is perfect for long articles, receipts, or chat threads on the S25 Edge's large screen. You can capture the entire conversation or document in one clean image.
Edit Right After Capturing
The toolbar that appears after a screenshot has options to draw, crop, or share instantly. If you dismiss the toolbar, your screenshots are saved in the Gallery app under Albums > Screenshots.
You can also pull up the screenshot from the notification panel immediately after taking it. This lets you edit or share before it gets buried in your gallery.
Customize Screenshot Settings
Go to Settings > Advanced features > Screenshots and screen recordings to fine-tune the behavior. You can turn off the toolbar, change the image format from PNG to JPG to save space, or disable the shutter sound.
The S25 Edge handles screenshots efficiently, but these settings let you tailor it to your workflow. Toggle off the toolbar if you prefer a cleaner experience and don't need the quick-edit options.
