Taking a screenshot on your Motorola Razr Plus is a daily task, whether you're saving a clever cover screen layout or capturing a long chat thread. With its unique folding design, you have a few more options than a typical slab phone.
Use the Button Combo
The classic method works perfectly on the Razr Plus. Simply press the Power button and the Volume Down button together for a moment, then release. You'll see a quick flash and hear a shutter sound, with a small preview popping up in the corner. You can tap that preview to edit or share right away.
Use the Three-Finger Swipe
This is often the fastest way. Just place three fingers anywhere on the main screen and swipe down. The screen will capture instantly. I find this method especially useful when the phone is unfolded and resting on a table, as you don't need to fumble for the buttons.
If it doesn't work, you may need to enable it first. Go to Settings > Moto > Gestures and turn on Three-finger screenshot.
Capture from the Cover Screen
You can take a screenshot of whatever is displayed on the outer cover screen, too. The button combo works here just like on the main display. Press and hold the Power button and Volume Down button on the side of the phone while the cover screen is active.
This is great for saving a widget setup or a notification you want to remember without having to open the phone.
Use the Power Menu
Press and hold the Power button until the power menu appears on screen. Among the options for restart and power off, you'll see a Screenshot button. Tap it to capture the screen that was visible before you opened the menu. It's a good alternative if the physical buttons are awkward for you.
Use Google Assistant
When your hands are full, just say, "Hey Google, take a screenshot." Your Razr Plus will capture the screen immediately. You can also activate Google Assistant by swiping from a corner and then typing the command. The screenshot saves directly to your gallery.
Use the Quick Settings Tile
Swipe down from the top of your screen twice to expand the full Quick Settings panel. Look for a tile labeled Screenshot. If you don't see it, tap the pencil icon to edit your tiles and add it from the list of available options. Once it's there, a single tap will take a screenshot.
Take a Scrolling Screenshot
After you take a standard screenshot, a toolbar preview will appear. Look for an icon that looks like two rectangles with an arrow, labeled Capture more. Tap it, and the phone will automatically scroll and extend the screenshot to include content below.
You can tap it multiple times to capture a very long webpage, email, or document. This creates one seamless image file.
Edit and Share Immediately
Right after the screenshot is taken, tap the floating preview thumbnail. This opens the Moto screenshot editor. Here, you can crop, draw, add text, or blur sensitive info. A share button at the top lets you send it directly through any app like Messages or Gmail.
If you ignore the preview, the screenshot saves automatically and the thumbnail disappears after a few seconds.
Find Your Screenshots
All your screenshots are saved in the Google Photos app by default. Open Photos and go to the Library tab, then select the Screenshots album. You can also find them in your file manager. Navigate to Internal storage > Pictures > Screenshots.
Shots taken on the cover screen and the main display are saved to the same folder, so they're all in one place.
