Capturing what's on your Honor Magic 7 Pro's screen is a breeze, and you have a few different ways to do it. Whether you're saving a map location, a funny chat, or an important confirmation, one of these methods will get the job done quickly.

Press the Power and Volume Down Buttons

The classic Android method works perfectly on the Magic 7 Pro. Just press the Power button and the Volume Down button at the exact same time. Hold them for a split second and then let go. You'll see a quick flash on the screen, hear a camera shutter sound, and a small preview thumbnail will pop up in the corner.

You can tap that preview to jump right into editing or sharing. If you ignore it, the screenshot will save automatically to your Gallery. I find this is the fastest method when you need to capture something immediately.

Use a Knuckle Gesture

This is a signature feature of Honor's MagicOS. You can literally knock on the screen to take a screenshot. Using your knuckle, double-tap the screen quickly, like you're knocking on a door. The phone will capture the entire screen instantly.

If you want to capture a specific area or shape, you can also draw a shape on the screen with your knuckle. Draw a circle for a partial screenshot or an "S" shape to start a scrolling screenshot. It feels a bit futuristic, but it's incredibly handy once you get the hang of it.

Take a Screenshot from the Notification Shade

Swipe down from the top of your screen to open the notification shade, then swipe down again to see all your Quick Settings tiles. Look for a tile labeled Screenshot. If you don't see it, tap the pencil icon to edit your tiles and add it.

Once it's there, you can take a screenshot with a single tap anytime. This is a great option if the button combo feels awkward or if your physical buttons aren't responding perfectly.

Capture a Scrolling Screenshot

This is perfect for saving entire web pages or long chat histories. First, take a regular screenshot using any method. In the preview thumbnail that appears, look for an icon that looks like a downward arrow or says Scroll capture.

Tap that icon. The phone will automatically scroll down and capture the next section of the page, stitching it to the first image. You can keep tapping the scroll capture button to make the screenshot as long as you need. It creates one seamless, long image file.

Edit and Annotate Right Away

Right after you take a screenshot, tap the floating preview thumbnail. This opens Honor's built-in editor. You can crop the image, draw on it with different colors, add text boxes, or blur out sensitive information with a mosaic tool.

There's also a share button right in the editor, so you can send the edited screenshot directly to WhatsApp, Gmail, or any other app without ever saving it to your gallery first. It's a very efficient workflow.

Find Your Saved Screenshots

All your screenshots are automatically saved to your phone's storage. The easiest way to find them is to open the Gallery app. There should be a dedicated Screenshots album right in the main view.

You can also find the files directly using a file manager app. Navigate to Internal storage > Pictures > Screenshots. They're saved as standard .PNG files, so you can move, copy, or back them up like any other image.

If Screenshots Aren't Working

If none of the methods seem to work, first try a simple restart. Press and hold the Power button, then tap Restart. If the phone is completely frozen, you can force a restart by pressing and holding the Power button for about 10 seconds until the Honor logo appears.

Also, check that you haven't accidentally disabled screenshot permissions for an app you're trying to capture. Some banking or streaming apps have security measures that can block screenshots, which is normal and not a problem with your phone.
