Recording your screen on the OnePlus 13 Pro is a great way to capture a tutorial, save a funny moment from a video call, or share your gaming highlights. The feature is built right into OxygenOS 15, and it's straightforward to use once you know where to find it.

Access the Screen Recorder

Swipe down from the top of your screen twice to pull down the full Quick Settings panel. Look for the tile labeled Screen Recorder. If you don't see it immediately, tap the pencil or edit icon to customize your tiles and add it from the list of available options.

On the OnePlus 13 Pro, this tool is integrated into the system, so you don't need to download a separate app to get started. I'd check here first, as it's the most direct method.

Start Your Recording

Tap the Screen Recorder tile. A small menu will pop up, giving you a few options before you begin. You can choose your audio source: System sound (captures audio from apps and games), System sound and microphone (app audio plus your voice), or Microphone only.

You can also toggle Show touches on screen, which is incredibly helpful if you're creating a tutorial and want viewers to see exactly where you're tapping. Once your settings are ready, tap Start and a three-second countdown will begin.

Include Your Voice in Recordings

For narrated guides or gameplay commentary, you'll want to select "System sound and microphone" from the audio options. This ensures the OnePlus 13 Pro captures both the audio from whatever app you're in and your voice through the device's microphone.

Just be mindful of your background noise, as the microphone will pick that up too. It's a good idea to do a quick test recording first to check your audio levels.

Stop and Save the Video

When you're finished, swipe down from the top to see your notifications. You'll find a persistent notification from the screen recorder with a bright red Stop button. Tap it to end the recording.

Alternatively, you can tap the small red recording indicator that floats on the edge of your screen. The video will automatically process and save to your Gallery app, typically in a folder named "ScreenRecordings" or similar.

Edit Your Screen Recording

Open the OnePlus Gallery app and find your new video. Tap on it, then look for the Edit button. The built-in editor lets you trim the beginning and end, which is perfect for cutting out the moments where you were starting and stopping the recorder.

You can also adjust brightness or add filters. For more advanced editing, like adding text or music, you might want to use a dedicated video editor app from the Play Store.

Adjust Quality and Settings

For more control, go to Settings > Additional settings > Screen recorder. Here, you can pre-configure the video resolution, frame rate, and audio bitrate.

Higher settings like 1440p at 60fps will look fantastic but create much larger files. If you're just recording for a quick social media clip, a lower resolution might be more practical for sharing.

Understand Recording Limitations

Due to copyright protection, most premium streaming apps like Netflix, Disney+, and Amazon Prime Video will block screen recording. You'll typically just see a black screen where the video should be.

Similarly, secure apps for banking or digital payments often prevent recording for your safety. For almost everything else, browsers, games, social media, and most other apps, the recorder will work without any issue.

Share Your Recordings Easily

Once your video is ready in the Gallery, tap the Share button. You can send it directly via messaging apps, email, or upload it to platforms like YouTube, Instagram, or TikTok.

If the file is very long and large, some sharing methods might compress it heavily. For the best quality, consider uploading to cloud storage like Google Drive or OnePlus Cloud and sharing a link instead.

Explore Third-Party Recorder Apps

If you need features beyond the built-in tool, like live drawing or more advanced audio controls, check the Google Play Store. Apps like AZ Screen Recorder or Mobizen offer extensive customization.

They often include built-in video editors and the ability to live stream. Just remember to grant the necessary permissions when you first open them so they can capture your screen properly.
