Facebook drafts are easy to lose because personal posts, reels, Page content, and ads do not share one inbox. Start with the place where you created the draft, then use the matching path below to reopen it, edit it, schedule it, or publish it.
Open the same post composer
Use this when you saved a draft in the Facebook mobile app. Meta documents saving only one post as a draft at a time in the app and reopening it from the composer on that device, and it publishes no personal-profile drafts folder, so treat the draft as temporary and go back to the phone or tablet where you saved it.
Open the Facebook app on that same device.
Tap What’s on your mind?.
When the draft appears, keep editing it or copy the text somewhere else before closing the composer.
Use the Android draft notification
On Android, Facebook sends a notification to your device after you tap Save draft in the composer. Meta documents this route for a Page post saved in the Facebook app, and on iPhone you reopen the composer instead.
Pull down your device's notifications tab, tap the Facebook notification, then tap Unpublished draft.
This works while the notification is still there and Facebook notifications are turned on.
To turn notifications on, open Settings, tap Notifications, tap App notifications, choose Facebook, and enable notifications. When Facebook is not under recent apps, use the drop-down and choose All apps. That is the Pixel and stock Android path, and Google notes these settings vary by phone, so on other Android devices open your notification settings and find Facebook there, where the menu names may differ.
Resume a saved reel draft
Reel drafts sit in their own place inside the Facebook app, separate from ordinary personal post drafts.
From your Feed, tap the + plus icon in the top right.
Tap Reel.
Tap Drafts.
Tap the reel draft you want to resume.
Publish or reuse saved Facebook reel drafts before 60 days, because Facebook removes them after that.
Recover Page drafts on desktop
This fixes missing drafts for Facebook Pages, not personal profiles.
Switch to the Page you want to manage.
From your Page, click Meta Business Suite in the left menu.
Click Content in the left menu.
Click Drafts at the top of the page.
Select the draft you want to edit, schedule, or publish.
Check Page content in Business Suite
Meta Business Suite keeps Page content inside Content, including published, draft, and scheduled posts.
That area covers Page posts, reels, video posts, stories, photos, and text posts.
For the Page draft view, go to Meta Business Suite, open Content, choose Posts & reels, and select Drafts. For Page reels, use the status tabs inside Content, including Published, Scheduled, Drafts, Expiring, and Expired.
When you manage more than one Page or professional asset, switch to the correct Page before looking for the draft.
Open Page drafts on your phone
For Page drafts on iPhone, iPad, or Android, use the Meta Business Suite app.
Install or open Meta Business Suite, sign in, tap Content at the bottom, tap the status drop-down that shows Published, and select Drafts.
Tap a draft to edit, schedule, or publish it.
When the draft does not appear there, use Meta Business Suite on desktop and confirm you are using the right Page.
Find ad drafts in Ads Manager
This fixes unpublished campaigns, ad sets, and ads started in Meta Ads Manager.
Open Meta Ads Manager on desktop.
Go to the main table.
Look in the Delivery column for items marked In Draft.
Open the draft campaign, ad set, or ad you want to finish.
When creating an ad and leaving before publishing, click Close. Meta documents that your work is then saved as a draft you can review and publish later, so if Ads Manager asks whether to keep the draft, confirm the save before you leave.
Fix drafts that still look missing
The most common cause is looking in the wrong product: personal posts, reels, Page content, and ads do not share one draft inbox.
For a personal-profile post, return to the same mobile device and reopen What’s on your mind?.
Avoid uninstalling Facebook, clearing app data, logging out, or switching devices while recovering a personal draft, because those actions do not retrieve drafts and can remove local drafts.
For a Page draft, use Meta Business Suite, open Content, and choose Drafts.
When someone else manages the Page, ask a person with full control to confirm that your Page access includes Content permission, which covers creating, managing, and deleting Page posts, Stories, Reels, and other Page content.
Skip Creator Studio, Publishing Tools, and Facebook Lite personal-drafts folders for current draft recovery. Use Meta Business Suite for Page drafts instead.
