You want to stop paying for Disney+, and you want it done cleanly so the next billing date passes without a charge. The good news: cancelling takes only a few taps once you know where to do it.
The one thing that trips up most people is this: you have to cancel through the same place you signed up. If you subscribed straight through Disney+, you cancel on disneyplus.com. If you signed up through Apple, Google Play, Amazon, Roku, Hulu, or a TV or phone provider, that company handles your billing, and that is where the Cancel button lives.
Before you start, know which account pays for it and have that login ready. Cancelling stops future billing; it does not delete your Disney account, and it does not give you a refund for time already paid. You keep full access until the end of the current period, then it stops. Below are the verified methods, quickest and most common first.
Confirm Where You Are Billed First
This single check saves the most frustration. Look at your receipts or card statement to see who actually charges you. If the charge says Apple, Google, Amazon, Roku, Hulu, or your cable or phone company, you cannot cancel on Disney+ at all; there will be no Cancel button there.
App-store subscriptions are also tied to the specific Apple Account or Google Account that pays, which is not always the one you read email with. If the subscription does not appear when you look, you are almost certainly signed in to the wrong account. Switch accounts and check again.
Cancel Directly on Disney+ (disneyplus.com)
Use this only if Disney bills you directly. From a desktop or laptop browser:
- 1.Go to disneyplus.com and sign in to your account.
- 2.Select your profile, choosing your primary profile if prompted.
- 3.Click your profile icon in the upper-right corner and choose Account from the dropdown.
- 4.Scroll to the Subscription section and click your Disney+ subscription.
- 5.Click Cancel Subscription.
- 6.Confirm by clicking Cancel Subscription again on the confirmation screen.
- 7.Optionally pick a reason and click Submit; this questionnaire is optional.
You keep access until the end of the current billing period. A Restart Subscription option appears if you change your mind before that date.
Cancel on iPhone or iPad (Billed Through Apple)
If Apple charges you, cancel from your device settings:
- 1.Open the Settings app.
- 2.Tap your name (Apple Account) at the top.
- 3.Tap Subscriptions.
- 4.Tap the Disney+ subscription.
- 5.Tap Cancel Subscription; you may need to scroll down to see it.
If there is no Cancel button, or you see a red expiration message, the subscription is already cancelled, so stop hunting. If this is a free or discounted trial you do not want to renew, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends to avoid the first paid charge.
Cancel on a Mac (Billed Through Apple)
- 1.Open the App Store app.
- 2.Click your name in the sidebar, or Sign In if needed.
- 3.Click Account Settings.
- 4.Scroll to Subscriptions and click Manage.
- 5.Click the Disney+ subscription.
- 6.Click Cancel Subscription, scrolling if needed.
As on iPhone, no Cancel button or red expiration text means it is already cancelled.
Cancel an Apple Subscription From Any Browser
If you are not at your Apple device, you can still cancel an Apple-billed subscription on the web:
- 1.Go to account.apple.com/account/manage/section/subscriptions and sign in.
- 2.Follow the onscreen instructions to find the Disney+ subscription and cancel it.
If you cannot find it, search your email for "receipt from Apple" or "invoice from Apple" to confirm which Apple Account was used.
Cancel on Android (Billed Through Google Play)
- 1.Open the Google Play Store app.
- 2.Tap your profile icon in the top-right corner.
- 3.Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
- 4.Select the Disney+ subscription.
- 5.Tap Cancel subscription and follow the instructions.
Make sure you are signed in to the Google Account that holds the subscription; if it is not listed, switch accounts. Uninstalling the Disney+ app does not cancel anything, and you keep access through the current billing period.
Cancel a Google Play Subscription on the Web
- 1.Go to play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions and sign in with the correct Google Account.
- 2.Find the Disney+ subscription and click Manage.
- 3.Click Cancel subscription.
- 4.Choose a reason for cancellation in the confirmation window.
- 5.Click Continue to finish.
Access continues until the next renewal date, then it stops. Note that if you bought the subscription on a payment plan, you remain responsible for the remaining payments even after stopping auto-renewal.
Cancel Through Amazon (Appstore or Fire Device)
If Amazon bills you, cancel from a web browser:
- 1.Go to amazon.com/appstoresubscriptions and log in if prompted.
- 2.Select the Disney+ subscription.
- 3.Follow the onscreen prompts to finalize cancellation.
You can also reach it through Your Account > Your Apps (under Digital content and devices) > Your Subscriptions (under Manage), then update or cancel Disney+. Turning off auto-renewal keeps access until the current period expires.
Cancel Disney+ as a Prime Video Channel on Fire TV
If you added Disney+ as a Prime Video Channel, cancel it here:
- 1.From the Fire TV home screen, go to Your Videos.
- 2.Select Manage Your Prime Video Channels.
- 3.Find Disney+ and select Cancel Channel.
- 4.Confirm cancellation on the pop-up.
Cancel a Roku-Billed Subscription
This applies only if you subscribed directly through Roku. Using the remote:
- 1.From the Roku home screen, highlight the Disney+ channel tile.
- 2.Press the star (*) button on the remote to open Options.
- 3.Choose Manage subscription.
- 4.Select Cancel subscription and confirm twice.
Roku shows the last day of valid access, and you keep access until the period ends. To do it on the web, go to my.roku.com/account, sign in, click Manage your subscriptions, then click Unsubscribe next to Disney Plus. For a Roku-billed Disney+ subscription you can also call Disney+ at 888-905-7888.
Remove Disney+ From a Hulu Bundle
If Disney+ is managed and billed through your Hulu account:
- 1.Go to secure.hulu.com/account and log in.
- 2.Under Your Subscription, click Manage Add-ons.
- 3.Uncheck Disney+.
- 4.Click Review Changes to confirm.
There may be no standalone Hulu plan that excludes Disney+, so removing it can change your price.
Cancel Through a TV or Phone Provider
If a provider such as Spectrum, Verizon, Xfinity, Rogers, or Shaw bills you, Disney+ cannot cancel it for you. Identify the provider from your billing statements, sign in to that provider's account page, and manage or cancel the Disney+ add-on there, or contact their customer support.
Delete Your Disney Account (Optional, After Cancelling)
This is separate from cancelling and only works after the subscription is cancelled:
- 1.Sign in at disneyplus.com and select your primary profile.
- 2.Hover over the profile icon and choose Account.
- 3.Under Settings, choose Delete Account.
- 4.Re-enter your credentials and confirm with the 6-digit code sent to your email.
If Delete Account is grayed out, you still have an active subscription to cancel first. Deleting the account does not stop charges billed elsewhere (Apple, Google, and so on), so always cancel through the billing channel first.
Frequently Asked Questions
I cancelled the app by deleting it. Why am I still being charged?
Uninstalling the Disney+ app never cancels billing; both Apple and Google state this directly. You must cancel through the account that pays, then the charges stop at the end of the period.
Will I get a refund for the rest of the month?
No. Disney+ does not issue refunds or credit for the unused part of a billing period. You keep full access until the current period ends, then it stops.
There is no Cancel button on Disney+. What is wrong?
Most likely you are billed by a third party (Apple, Google, Amazon, Roku, Hulu, or a TV or phone provider). Disney+ has no Cancel button for those, so cancel where you pay. If you are billed directly by Disney, make sure you opened Account from your profile icon.
I cancelled Disney+ but I am still being billed for another service.
Cancelling Disney+ only removes Disney+. Other bundled services, such as Hulu or ESPN, keep billing under their own terms and must be cancelled separately.
How do I avoid being charged when my free trial ends?
For an Apple-billed trial, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Cancelling early still lets you use the service until the trial date passes.
My subscription does not appear in my Apple or Google account. Where is it?
App-store subscriptions are tied to the exact account that pays, which may not be the one you check email with. Switch accounts, or for Apple, search your email for "receipt from Apple" to identify the right account.
