When you plug in your Dell XPS 13 and nothing happens, it's a frustrating roadblock. The issue could be with the charger, the port, Windows, or the battery itself. Let's walk through the most effective ways to get your laptop charging again.

Check Your Charger and Cable

First, take a close look at your Dell USB-C charger and cable. Check for any fraying, kinks, or damage to the cable. Make sure the brick is firmly plugged into a working wall outlet, and try a different outlet if you can.

The LED light on the Dell power adapter should be lit when it's plugged in. If it's not, that's a strong sign the adapter itself has failed. I'd start with this check, as it's the most common culprit.

Perform a Full Restart

Shut down your XPS 13 completely, don't just put it to sleep. Once it's fully off, press the power button to turn it back on while the charger is plugged in. This simple step resets the laptop's power management controller and can often re-detect the charger.
