Press and hold the power button for at least 15 seconds. Keep holding it until you feel the phone vibrate and see the Redmi logo appear on the screen. This force restart is the single most effective fix for a frozen, unresponsive touchscreen on the Redmi Note 13 Pro.

I'd start with this one every time. It clears the phone's working memory and can resolve temporary software glitches that lock up the touchscreen. The phone should power back on normally once you release the button.

Clean the Screen Thoroughly

Take a close look at your screen. Oils, lotions, or even a thin film of dirt can seriously interfere with the capacitive touch sensors. Use a soft, lint-free microfiber cloth to wipe the entire display clean.

Pay special attention to the edges and corners. If the screen is particularly grimy, dampen a corner of the cloth with a little water or a screen-safe cleaner. Make sure the screen is completely dry before testing the touch response again.

Also, remove any screen protector you have installed. A cheap, poorly applied, or damaged protector is a very common cause of touch issues. Test the phone's bare screen to rule this out.

Check for Charging and Power Issues

Unplug your phone from the charger if it's connected. Sometimes, especially with third-party or faulty chargers, electrical interference can make the touchscreen act erratically or stop working entirely. Try using the touchscreen with the phone running on battery power alone.

If your battery is critically low, the phone might enter a power-saving mode that could affect performance. Plug it in using the official 67W charger that came in the box and let it charge for at least 20 minutes. The fast charging can generate some heat, which is normal, but ensure the phone isn't overheating.

Boot into Safe Mode

Safe mode temporarily disables all third-party apps you've installed. If your touchscreen works perfectly in safe mode, you know a downloaded app is causing the conflict. To enter safe mode, press and hold the power button until the power menu appears.

Then, tap and hold the "Power off" option on your screen. A prompt will appear asking if you want to reboot to safe mode. Tap "OK." Your phone will restart, and you'll see "Safe mode" in the bottom corner.

Test the touchscreen here. If it works, a recently installed app is likely the culprit. Restart normally to exit safe mode, then try uninstalling apps one by one, starting with the most recent downloads.

Calibrate the Touchscreen

While Xiaomi doesn't offer a dedicated touchscreen calibration tool in the settings, you can use a hidden diagnostic menu. Open your phone app and dial *#*#6484#*#*. This opens the MIUI CIT (Component and Interface Test) menu.

Scroll through the list and look for the "Touch" or "Touchscreen" test. Select it, and the phone will guide you through a test where you tap and swipe specific patterns on the screen. This process can sometimes recalibrate the touch sensors.

Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the test. Once done, exit the menu and restart your phone to see if touch responsiveness has improved.

Update Your Software

Outdated software can have bugs that affect hardware performance. Go to Settings > About phone > MIUI version. Tap "Check for updates." If an update is available, download and install it.

Make sure your phone is connected to Wi-Fi and has at least 50% battery before starting an update. Software updates often include patches for known touchscreen issues and general system stability improvements.

Also, check for app updates in the Google Play Store and the Xiaomi GetApps store. Go to each store, tap your profile icon, and select "Manage apps & device" to update everything.

Check for Physical or Liquid Damage

Inspect your phone for any recent drops or impacts. Even a small crack at the edge of the screen can damage the underlying digitizer layer that controls touch. Look closely for any hairline fractures you might have missed.

Consider if the phone has been exposed to moisture. While the Redmi Note 13 Pro has some splash resistance, it's not waterproof. Check the SIM card tray for any signs of moisture or a tripped liquid damage indicator.

If you suspect physical damage, the touchscreen may need to be replaced. The issue is likely a hardware fault with the screen assembly or its connection to the motherboard.

Perform a Factory Reset

This is a last resort, as it will erase all data from your phone. Before you begin, ensure you have a recent backup. You can back up to your Mi Account or Google Drive by going to Settings > Additional settings > Backup & reset.

To reset, go to Settings > About phone > Factory reset. Tap "Erase all data (factory reset)." You will need to enter your screen lock password or PIN to confirm.

The phone will reboot and erase everything, returning to its out-of-the-box state. If a deep-seated software corruption was causing the touch problem, this should resolve it. After the reset, set up the phone as new before restoring your backup to see if the issue returns.
