In Outlook for Windows, click File > Account Settings icon > Manage Profiles > Email Accounts, double-click the AOL account, then remove and re-enter the password and confirm the status shows "Completed." Microsoft notes that after you change the password at AOL, Outlook will simply prompt you for the new one the next time it opens.
