Sony's PlayStation State of Play on February 12 delivered over an hour of game reveals, marking the longest showcase in the series' history. The 60-minute presentation featured more than 30 announcements spanning new IP, franchise returns, and surprise shadow drops for PS5. The event was announced earlier this week as PlayStation's first major showcase of 2026.

God of War dominated the showcase with two major reveals. Santa Monica Studio confirmed a remake of the original Greek trilogy is in early development, while God of War: Sons of Sparta launched immediately as a 2D action platformer.

The $29.99 side-scroller explores Kratos' youth during Spartan training, developed with Mega Cat Studios and featuring TC Carson's narration.

Konami announced Castlevania: Belmont's Curse, the first original entry in the gothic series in over a decade. Developed by Motion Twin and Evil Empire, the 2D action-exploration game preserves classic whip combat with fresh art and weapons. It launches on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch in 2026.

Saber Interactive revealed an untitled John Wick game developed with franchise director Chad Stahelski and Keanu Reeves. The action shooter recreates the films' gun-fu combat, driving sequences, and neo-noir environments, putting players directly in the role of the Baba Yaga on PS5.

Kena: Scars of Kosmora opened the showcase as Ember Lab's sequel to Bridge of Spirits. The 3D action-adventure follows an older Kena to the island of Kosmora, featuring expanded combat, mounts, and elemental systems. It arrives on PS5 and PC later this year.

Ghost of Yotei Legends adds four-player co-op to the base game on March 10 as a free update. Players choose from four character classes to battle supernatural enemies across 12 story missions, with incursions unlocking every three missions.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach launches on PC March 19 with uncapped framerates, ultrawide support, and DualSense integration. The PC version developed with Nixxes Software includes NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel upscalers with Frame Generation.

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 arrives August 27, finally freeing Metal Gear Solid 4 from PS3 exclusivity. The collection includes MGS4: Guns of the Patriots, Peace Walker HD, and Ghost Babel with improved resolution and frame rates.

007 First Light revealed a reimagined James Bond origin story from IO Interactive, launching May 27. The game follows a young Bond recruited by MI6 after a mission in Iceland, hunting rogue agent 009 with open-ended mission design.

Marathon confirmed its March 5 launch with a Server Slam running February 26 through March 2. Bungie's extraction shooter offers exclusive PS5 cosmetics during the test period.

Silent Hill: Townfall showcased first-person gameplay with a reimagined CRTV device replacing the series' iconic radio. The Annapurna Interactive-published horror game uses the device to detect threats and uncover story elements.

Game Freak's Beast of Reincarnation arrives August 4, blending real-time sword combat with command-based RPG mechanics. Set in sci-fi Japan year 4026, players control plant-fused protagonist Emma while issuing tactical commands to companion Koo.

Rayman: 30th Anniversary Edition launched February 13 with five versions of the original game, 120 bonus levels, and a never-before-playable prototype. Digital Eclipse's definitive edition includes a reimagined soundtrack and interactive documentary.

Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered modernizes the 2003 classic with updated visuals and controls, arriving March 3. The Deluxe Edition includes a playable demo of the cancelled sequel Dark Prophecy.

Resident Evil Requiem releases February 27, with new gameplay showing Leon Kennedy infected once again. The trailer confirms Sherry's return alongside the new villain.

Saros from Housemarque launches April 30, offering deep dive into the Returnal developer's next rogue-like. Players modify themselves and enemies using alien devices to balance difficulty.

Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls arrives August 6 with the Unbreakable X-Men team including Storm, Magik, Wolverine, and Danger. The 2D fighter features Episode Mode narrative and costs $59.99 for the Standard Edition.

PlayStation Plus additions include Marvel's Spider-Man 2 arriving in March for Extra and Premium subscribers. February's catalogue adds Tekken: Dark Resurrection, Time Crisis, and Untitled Goose Game creator's Big Walk.

Additional reveals included 4:Loop's cooperative alien invasion shooter, Pragmata's April 24 launch, Crimson Moon's 2026 gothic action, and Project Windless' open-world RPG from Krafton. Darwin's Paradox launches April 2 with an octopus protagonist, while Yakoh Shinobi Ops delivers four-player stealth in 2027.

The February State of Play packed announcements across remasters, new IP, and franchise returns, setting PS5's 2026 release calendar with immediate and upcoming titles.
