Sony confirmed a PlayStation State of Play broadcast for February 12, marking the company's first major showcase of 2026. The 60-minute event streams at 2pm PT / 5pm ET / 10pm UK time via PlayStation's YouTube and Twitch channels.

The State of Play will spotlight third-party and indie games headed to PS5 alongside PlayStation Studios updates. Sony described the showcase as featuring "eye-catching third-party and indie games headed to PS5, along with the latest from teams at PlayStation Studios."

This follows Xbox's Developer Direct in late January and Nintendo's Partner Direct last week. All three major platform holders have now announced events within the first six weeks of 2026.

This comes as Microsoft plans major Xbox franchise releases on PlayStation in 2026, marking a historic shift in console exclusivity.

Marvel's Wolverine from Insomniac Games represents a likely highlight. The game received its first proper gameplay showing during September 2025's State of Play but lacks a confirmed release date. Insomniac recently teased a Wolverine-Daredevil encounter.

Saros from Returnal developer Housemarque arrives April 30, positioning it for additional gameplay details. Bungie's Marathon launches March 5, making it another probable inclusion given its proximity.

Third-party titles expected in 2026 include Capcom's Monster Hunter Stories 3, Pragmata, Square Enix's Life is Strange Reunion, IO Interactive's 007 First Light, and Warner Bros.' Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. A recent leak suggested Devil May Cry 6 could appear, though sources remain unverified.

Other major third-party announcements include Bethesda's four major titles for Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026.

PlayStation Studios' pipeline includes Guerrilla Games' recently revealed Horizon multiplayer spinoff Hunters Gathering and Naughty Dog's Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. The division oversees development across Sony's first-party studios, which have contributed to Sony generating over $2.3 billion selling PlayStation games on PC and Xbox.

The 60-minute State of Play on February 12 will be Sony's longest showcase since 2023.
