Nintendo's Switch 2 "Choose Your Game" bundle went live on Amazon and GameStop, arriving weeks ahead of its announced June launch window and giving buyers a window to lock in a free game before the console's price jumps $50 in September. The bundle costs $499.99 and includes a download code redeemable for Mario Kart World ($80), Donkey Kong Bananza ($70), or Pokémon Pokopia ($70). That's $20 to $30 in savings now. But the real math kicks in on September 1, when Nintendo raises the standalone Switch 2 price from $449.99 to $499.99. After that date, the console alone costs the same as this bundle with a game included.
Effectively, anyone who buys the bundle before September gets a free $70 to $80 game. The bundle was originally slated for early June, according to Nintendo's official announcement last week, but 9to5toys reports it has already appeared at retailers. Amazon and GameStop are both listing the deal as available now while supplies last.
Pokémon Pokopia is the surprise inclusion. Developed by The Pokémon Company rather than Nintendo directly, the spinoff has sold over 4 million copies in five weeks, making it a legitimate system-selling title alongside Nintendo's own Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza.
Polygon notes that Pokopia's performance surprised even Nintendo.
Mario Kart World launched alongside the Switch 2 as the premium option at $80, while Donkey Kong Bananza and Pokopia carry $70 price tags. The bundle pricing effectively discounts the game to $50 regardless of which title the buyer selects. The deal runs through the summer with no set end date beyond "while supplies last." Nintendo has not indicated whether the bundle will return after the September price increase takes effect.
