Capturing what's on your Nothing Phone 2a's screen is a breeze, and you have a few different ways to do it. Whether you're saving a Glyph Interface pattern, a funny chat, or an important detail, one of these methods will get the job done.
Press the Power and Volume Down Buttons
The classic button combo is the most reliable way. Simply press the Power button and the Volume Down button at the same time. Hold them for just a second and then release. You'll see a quick flash on the screen, hear a shutter sound, and a small preview will pop up in the bottom-left corner. You can tap that preview to edit or share right away, or just let it vanish and the screenshot will save automatically to your gallery.
Use the Quick Settings Tile
This is my go-to method when my hands are positioned awkwardly. Swipe down from the top of your screen twice to pull down the full Quick Settings panel. Look for a tile labeled Screenshot. If you don't see it, tap the pencil icon at the bottom to edit your tiles and add it from the list. Once it's there, a single tap on that tile instantly captures whatever is on your display.
Take a Screenshot with a Gesture
If you're using gesture navigation, Nothing OS has a handy shortcut. With three fingers, swipe down from the top of the screen. The screen will flash and capture instantly. This method feels very natural once you get the motion down, and it works from almost any app or screen.
I find this especially useful for capturing longer content quickly, as you can immediately use the scrolling screenshot feature from the preview.
Capture a Scrolling Screenshot
Need to save an entire webpage or a long chat thread? Take a regular screenshot using any method. When the preview thumbnail appears in the corner, tap it to open the editor. At the bottom, you should see an icon that looks like two rectangles with an arrow, labeled Capture more or Extend.
Tap that icon, and your Phone 2a will automatically scroll down and capture the next section, stitching it to the first image. You can keep tapping to capture even more, creating one seamless long image. This is perfect for saving recipes, travel itineraries, or entire conversations.
Edit and Annotate Your Capture
As soon as you take a screenshot, tap the floating preview to open Nothing's built-in editor. From here, you can crop the image, draw on it with different colors, add text, or use a highlighter. When you're done, tap the share button at the top to send it directly through Messages, Gmail, or any other app.
If you skip the editor, the screenshot is still saved. You can always find it later and edit it from your gallery app.
Find Your Saved Screenshots
All your screenshots are neatly organized. Open the Google Photos app that comes pre-installed. Go to the Library tab at the bottom, then select the Screenshots album. Every capture you've taken will be listed there chronologically.
You can also find the raw image files using the Files app. Navigate to Internal storage > Pictures > Screenshots. This folder is where all screenshot files are directly stored by the system.
