You can play Rocket League on a Mac through GeForce NOW or by streaming the game from a compatible gaming PC, PlayStation, or Xbox. Start with GeForce NOW if you do not own another device that can run the game. Rocket League has no supported current native macOS version.
Both Intel and Apple silicon Macs can use supported streaming clients, but each application has its own requirements. For online PC matches, Easy Anti-Cheat must run on the computer hosting Rocket League. Your Mac receives the video and sends your controls to that computer.
The short version
- No gaming PC needed: Use GeForce NOW with an NVIDIA membership and the account that owns Rocket League.
- Already own a gaming device: Stream from a compatible PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox One, or Xbox Series X|S.
- Online play: Keep Easy Anti-Cheat enabled on a PC host because disabling it removes access to online matches.
- Old Mac tutorials: Native Mac downloads and older compatibility or virtualization instructions are not current supported online solutions.

Set up Rocket League on GeForce NOW
Add the free game to your Epic account first. Open the Rocket League product page, select Get, and complete checkout while signed into the account you intend to use. This adds the Windows game to your account without installing a Mac version.
Open the GeForce NOW download page. Under Desktop and Laptop, choose Mac and then Download, install the application, and sign into an NVIDIA account with a membership. The Mac app requires macOS 10.15 or later and supported hardware.
Open the top-left menu, then select Settings > Connections > Epic Games > CONNECT. Complete Epic sign-in and two-factor authentication, select ALLOW, and return to the game library. Find Rocket League, choose the Epic Games Store version, and select PLAY.
To use a browser, return to NVIDIA's download page and choose Browser > Launch. Sign in, find Rocket League, choose the storefront holding your game, and start playing. Supported Mac browsers include Chrome 77 or later, Opera GX 117 or later, and Safari 16.4 or later. Existing Steam owners can choose the Steam version in either client.
If cloud play feels unresponsive, test your connection in the Mac application. Open the top-left menu, select Settings, set Server Location to Auto, and select TEST NETWORK. You can also select a specific server location before testing.
Stream from a gaming PC
For the Epic version, download and install Epic Games Launcher on the compatible Windows host. Acquire Rocket League through Store, then open Library and select Rocket League. Choose the installation location, select Install, and accept the Easy Anti-Cheat installation prompt.
Existing Steam owners can use Steam Remote Play. Keep Rocket League installed on the compatible host and sign into Steam on both computers with the same account. On your Mac, open Library > Rocket League and select Stream when available.
For the separate Steam Link client, install Valve's Mac application, connect to the computer running Steam, and complete pairing. Launch Rocket League from the host's library. Steam Link requires macOS 10.13 or later, and downloading Steam does not let new players acquire Rocket League's delisted Steam edition.
For an Epic or Steam copy, install Sunshine on the gaming PC and open its configuration interface. Install Moonlight on your Mac, keep both computers on the same network, and select the PC in Moonlight. Enter Moonlight's PIN on Sunshine's Pin page, stream the desktop or Steam, and launch Rocket League on the host.
Parsec is another option for connecting to a compatible Windows gaming host. Run its Mac installer through Continue, Install, and Close, then open Parsec from Applications. Sign into the account used on your host, select Connect, and launch Rocket League there. You can also connect to an authorized friend's host.
The Parsec Mac client requires macOS 10.15 or later, Metal support, and a supported file system. To use its browser client, open the Parsec web app in Google Chrome, sign in, connect to your Windows host, and launch the game there. Parsec says browser performance is poorer than its native client's performance, so switch to the application if the browser experience falls short.
Play through your PlayStation
Install Rocket League on your PS5 or PS4, then open Sony's PS Remote Play Mac download page. Accept the application license and privacy checkbox, select Download, and run the installer. Sony's Mac-specific requirements list Monterey, Ventura, Sonoma, Sequoia, and Tahoe.
On PS5, open Settings > System > Remote Play and turn on Enable Remote Play. Connect a controller to your Mac, open PS Remote Play, and select Sign In using the console's account. Select PS5, then launch the installed Rocket League game.
For PS4, open Settings > Remote Play Connection Settings and enable Enable Remote Play. Then open Settings > Account Management > Activate as Your Primary PS4 and select Activate. Connect your controller, select Sign In in the Mac application using the console's account, and choose PS4. Launch Rocket League on the console.
PXPlay offers separate Mac Silicon and Mac Intel downloads and requires macOS 12.7 or later. Choose the matching download or demo and obtain a PC license for the full application. Enable console Remote Play, keep both devices on the same network, then open PXPlay and select Register PS.
Select the console type and obtain its registration number using the console's pairing settings described below. Enter that number, select Register, and complete PlayStation sign-in. Choose Local Connect or Remote Connect, then launch Rocket League.
For chiaki-ng, obtain the appropriate macOS build from the project's releases and enable console Remote Play. Open the application, complete its PSN registration flow, select the discovered console, and register it using Automatic Registration Available when offered. For PIN registration, use PSN Login, enter the console's number under Remote Play PIN, and select Register. Select the registered console and launch Rocket League.
Connect to your Xbox
Xbox browser Remote Play streams from your own console. Install Rocket League on your Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S and enable the console's remote features. Visit xbox.com/remoteplay in a supported browser, sign into the console's Microsoft account, connect to the console, and launch the installed game.
OneCast is another Mac client for supported Xbox consoles and requires macOS 13 or later. Choose Download for Mac, install it, connect it to your Xbox account and console, then launch Rocket League through the console library. Console streaming through OneCast does not require Game Pass.
For OneCast away from home, first keep the Xbox and Mac on the same local network. Open the console-specific Options popup and choose Configure for internet play. If automatic configuration fails, OneCast's fallback is to forward TCP and UDP port 9002 to the Xbox and rerun configuration. Router and ISP compatibility varies.
Connect your controller and game accounts
For a supported Bluetooth Xbox controller, press its Xbox button and hold Connect until pairing mode starts. Open your Mac's Bluetooth settings and select the controller. Apple supports Xbox model 1708, Series S/X, Elite Series 2, and Adaptive Controller models, while your streaming application must also support the controller.
A compatible PlayStation controller can connect with a USB cable supporting data and charging. For Bluetooth, turn the controller off and disconnect USB, then hold PS + Create on DualSense or DualSense Edge, or PS + Share on DualShock 4, until the light flashes. Select the controller in your Mac's Bluetooth settings.
Use the Epic account holding your intended progress when connecting GeForce NOW or other platforms. To link a platform, sign into that Epic account, open Linked accounts, select Link beneath the platform, and complete its sign-in prompts. Linking accounts does not create a native Mac client.
Display console gameplay through a capture card
A compatible USB capture card lets your Mac display the console's gameplay while your controller stays connected to the console. Connect the console's HDMI output to the card's HDMI In, connect the card to your Mac over USB, and open compatible capture software. For PS5 capture, open Settings > System > HDMI and turn off Enable HDCP.
With compatible Elgato hardware, install and launch Elgato Studio and grant the requested Camera and Microphone permissions. Connect the capture card, then select the square icon beside the Volume slider for Full Screen. Software preview latency varies, so the Mac preview may respond differently from a display connected through HDMI passthrough.
Use an existing Windows or Linux installation
If your Intel Mac already has a bootable, compatible Windows installation and game-compatible graphics, restart and immediately hold Option or Alt, then select the Windows startup volume. Alternatively, open the Apple menu, choose System Settings > General > Startup Disk, select the Windows disk, and choose Restart. Install Rocket League inside Windows using the Epic launcher steps above.
Epic supports the current anti-cheat implementation on Linux and Steam Deck. If your Mac can boot a compatible Linux installation and you already own the Steam edition, boot Linux and launch Rocket League through Steam with EAC enabled. Epic supplies no Mac-specific Linux installation procedure, including a complete Apple silicon setup route.
Fix launch and connection problems
On a Windows host, launch Rocket League normally through Epic Games Launcher to enable Easy Anti-Cheat by default. Steam owners must choose the EAC-enabled launch option for online play. If Windows requests permission to install the component, select Yes. If installation fails, use Epic's manual EAC installer procedure; the component must remain installed even for an EAC-disabled launch.
For offline play, open Library, select Rocket League's three-dot menu, and choose Launch without EAC. Alternatively, open Manage > Launch options and enter -noeac; remove that text to restore EAC. Steam offers the corresponding launch choice.
Disabling EAC allows offline matches, training, LAN matches, replays, and applicable mods. It prevents online matches, private online matches, and tournaments. Restore an EAC-enabled launch before joining those modes.
If PlayStation discovery fails, keep the Mac and console on the same network and pair manually. On PS5, open Settings > System > Remote Play > Pair Device; on PS4, use Settings > Remote Play Connection Settings > Add Device. Enter the displayed number in the Mac application. PXPlay and chiaki-ng instructions may call the PS5 option Link Device; follow the label displayed on your console.
A PlayStation in rest mode needs network wake enabled. On PS5, open Settings > System > Power Saving > Features Available in Rest Mode, then enable Stay Connected to the Internet and Enable Turning on PS5 from Network. On PS4, open Settings > Power Save Settings > Set Features Available in Rest Mode and enable the internet connection and PS4 network-wake options.
If your Mac stops responding during setup, restart the unresponsive computer before resuming. When a launch or pairing error blocks you, take a screenshot of the error to retain its exact wording. Restarting does not change Rocket League's platform support.
Recognize outdated Mac instructions
Online PC play requires Easy Anti-Cheat, and macOS remains unsupported. CrossOver, Wine, Heroic, GPTK, and Whisky do not provide a current supported online route. Disabling anti-cheat does not restore online access through those compatibility layers.
The discontinued native Mac edition has no current supported installation or online-play procedure. Apple's Windows 10 Boot Camp installation route is a legacy option, and Boot Camp does not support Apple silicon. Older Parallels tutorials also do not establish a current supported online solution. Shadow explicitly lists Rocket League as incompatible because anti-cheat prevents operation in its virtual-machine environment.
For Moonlight, use Sunshine instead of older NVIDIA GameStream or GeForce Experience hosting instructions. Before subscribing to Boosteroid for Rocket League, confirm that the game is currently available in its catalog. Historical availability and a Mac client do not establish that the service currently offers the game.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you customize a controller's buttons on your Mac?
On macOS Ventura 13 or later, connect a supported controller and open System Settings > Game Controllers, then select it. Available features include button customization, Profiles, Home Button Overrides, and Buddy Controller. Availability depends on your controller and client application.
Why might an Epic account refuse to link another platform?
Epic Cabined Accounts can restrict account linking until parental consent is complete. Complete the account's consent requirements before attempting to link the platform again.
Can you use Firefox or Edge for GeForce NOW on Mac?
NVIDIA's Firefox and Edge support listings are Windows-specific. For Mac browser play, choose one of its listed Mac browsers, such as Chrome, Opera GX, or Safari.
Does Rocket League's Xbox listing mean you can use Xbox Cloud Gaming?
A Game Pass listing does not establish that Rocket League is available through Xbox Cloud Gaming. Check the service's current game catalog before choosing a subscription for that purpose. Xbox console Remote Play is a separate option that uses the game installed on your own console.
