You searched your own name and found a BeenVerified profile listing your address, relatives, and phone numbers. Or you signed up for a BeenVerified plan and now want the charges to stop. These are two different problems, and the fix for one does nothing for the other.

Removing your public profile is a free process that needs no account and no payment. Canceling a paid subscription is a separate billing action. This guide covers both, starting with the most common request (taking down your profile), then every way to cancel a subscription depending on where you signed up.

One thing to know up front: an opt-out is not always permanent. BeenVerified can re-collect your information from new public-records sources, so re-checking every few months is part of staying off the site.

Remove Your Public Profile From the BeenVerified Database

This is the free opt-out. No BeenVerified account or payment is required. You will need access to an email inbox, because the request is confirmed by email.

Tip before you start: use a dedicated or disposable email address rather than your primary personal email, since you are handing that address to BeenVerified.

  1. 1.Go to beenverified.com, scroll to the footer, and click Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information under the Help section. This opens the opt-out search page. Use this footer link rather than a link from a search ad, and confirm the domain is beenverified.com (look-alike sites exist).
  2. 2.In the search form, enter your First Name and Last Name. You can filter by State, but leaving State set to All returns the most comprehensive results. Click Search.
  3. 3.Find the listing that matches you and click Proceed to Opt Out next to that record.
  4. 4.Enter your email address, complete the CAPTCHA, then click Send Verification Email.
  5. 5.Open the verification email from BeenVerified (it typically arrives within about five minutes) and click Verify Opt-Out. This link expires after 48 hours, so click it promptly.
  6. 6.Watch for confirmation that your request was received.

Removal is reported to take roughly 24 to 72 hours, with some cases observed taking up to about seven business days. Be patient, then re-search your name to confirm the listing is gone.

Opt Out Every Matching Record, Not Just One

BeenVerified frequently holds more than one profile per person. Maiden names, nicknames, middle-name variants, and old addresses can each generate a separate record.

Opting out of one record does not remove the others. Repeat the search-and-verify steps above for each matching listing individually until none of them point to you.

Use the State-Resident Form If You Live in a Covered State

Residents of states such as California (and per the research, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and Virginia) get a more detailed form at the same entry point. The flow asks for more information and ends with a different submit button.

  1. 1.From the opt-out page (footer link Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information), search by First Name, Last Name, and State, then click Search.
  2. 2.Set Request Type to Do Not Sell My Information, enter your membership ID if you have one, and provide your full address and age.
  3. 3.Find your listing and click Proceed to Opt Out.
  4. 4.Optionally add your phone number, social-media handles, and alternative emails or addresses so linked data is covered. Check the certification box, complete the CAPTCHA, then click Remove My Info.
  5. 5.Verify the request by clicking the confirmation link in the email BeenVerified sends you.
  6. 6.Wait for the removal confirmation, and repeat for any additional matching records.

Check the Affiliated Sites Too

Opting out of BeenVerified is reported to also remove you from its sister sites: PeopleLooker, NeighborWho, and Ownerly. The reverse is said to be true as well, so opting out of PeopleLooker reportedly removes you from BeenVerified.

To be safe, separately search your name on PeopleLooker, NeighborWho, and Ownerly after you opt out. If a listing still appears on any of them, run that site's own opt-out.

Re-Check Every Few Months

A successful opt-out does not guarantee permanent removal. BeenVerified can re-collect and re-list your data from new or updated public-records sources, so a fresh listing can appear later.

Re-search your name every three to four months and repeat the opt-out for anything new. Treating this as a recurring task, not a one-time fix, is what keeps you off the site.

Cancel a Subscription Billed Directly by BeenVerified

This applies only if you signed up for a paid plan billed directly by BeenVerified (not through Apple or Google). Removing your profile does not stop subscription billing, so you must cancel separately.

Have your 9-digit member ID ready. You can find it in your New Member Welcome email or on the right-hand side of your account Dashboard. The most reliable methods are phone and email, using the contact details on BeenVerified's own site.

  1. 1.By phone: call the customer support number listed on BeenVerified's official Contact Us page and request account cancellation, providing your member ID, name, and email.
  2. 2.By email: email the support address listed on BeenVerified's official Contact Us page with your full name, account info, and a clear cancellation request.
  3. 3.By contact form: log in at beenverified.com, open Contact Us from the footer, and select the cancel-account option, then confirm. Sources disagree on whether a self-service Cancel Subscription button exists under Account Settings, so treat phone or email as the dependable route.

Confirm you receive a cancellation email shortly after. If it does not arrive, follow up with support to make sure charges stop. If you are on a low-cost trial, cancel before the trial ends or you may be charged the full rate. Deleting the app does not cancel billing.

Cancel an Apple-Billed Subscription (iPhone, iPad, or Mac)

If you subscribed through an iPhone or iPad, Apple manages the billing. Canceling on beenverified.com will not stop an Apple-billed subscription.

On iPhone or iPad: open Settings > tap your name > Subscriptions > tap the BeenVerified subscription > Cancel Subscription (scroll down if needed). If there is no Cancel button or you see an expiration message in red text, the subscription is already canceled.

On a Mac: open the App Store app > click your name (or Sign In) > Account Settings > scroll to Subscriptions and click Manage > click the BeenVerified subscription > Cancel Subscription.

From any browser: go to account.apple.com/account/manage/section/subscriptions, sign in, open the Subscriptions section, select BeenVerified, and choose to cancel. Cancel at least 24 hours before a free trial ends to avoid being charged for renewal.

Cancel a Google-Billed Subscription (Android)

If you subscribed through an Android device, Google Play manages the billing. Uninstalling the app will not stop the charges.

On your Android device: open the Google Play Store app, tap your profile icon > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions > select the BeenVerified subscription > Cancel subscription, then follow the on-screen steps to confirm.

Alternatively via device settings: Settings > Google > (your name) > Manage your Google Account > Payments & subscriptions > Manage subscriptions.

From any browser: go to play.google.com, sign in with the Google account used for the purchase, open the Subscriptions area, select BeenVerified, and use Cancel subscription, then confirm.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does removing my profile cancel my paid subscription?

No. The free opt-out removes your public listing from the database; it does not touch billing. If you have a paid plan, you must cancel it separately through BeenVerified, Apple, or Google, depending on where you signed up.

Will deleting the BeenVerified app stop the charges?

No. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription. If you subscribed through Apple, cancel in Apple's Subscriptions settings; if through Google, cancel in Google Play; if billed directly, cancel by phone or email using the contact details on BeenVerified's official site.

How long does it take for my profile to come down?

Reports range from roughly 24 to 72 hours, with some cases observed taking up to about seven business days. After that window, re-search your name to confirm the listing is gone.

Why did my information come back after I opted out?

BeenVerified can re-collect your data from new or updated public-records sources, so a fresh listing can appear over time. Re-check your name every three to four months and repeat the opt-out for anything new.

I have several listings. Do I need to opt out of each one?

Yes. BeenVerified often holds multiple records per person from name variants, maiden names, and old addresses. Opting out of one does not remove the others, so repeat the process for every matching record.

What if my verification email never arrives or the link expired?

The verification email usually arrives within about five minutes, and the confirmation link expires after 48 hours. If it expired or never came, restart the opt-out from the footer link and request a new verification email, checking your spam folder.
