You searched your own name and found a BeenVerified profile listing your address, relatives, and phone numbers. Or you signed up for a BeenVerified plan and now want the charges to stop. These are two different problems, and the fix for one does nothing for the other.
Removing your public profile is a free process that needs no account and no payment. Canceling a paid subscription is a separate billing action. This guide covers both, starting with the most common request (taking down your profile), then every way to cancel a subscription depending on where you signed up.
One thing to know up front: an opt-out is not always permanent. BeenVerified can re-collect your information from new public-records sources, so re-checking every few months is part of staying off the site.
Remove Your Public Profile From the BeenVerified Database
This is the free opt-out. No BeenVerified account or payment is required. You will need access to an email inbox, because the request is confirmed by email.
Tip before you start: use a dedicated or disposable email address rather than your primary personal email, since you are handing that address to BeenVerified.
- 1.Go to beenverified.com, scroll to the footer, and click Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information under the Help section. This opens the opt-out search page. Use this footer link rather than a link from a search ad, and confirm the domain is beenverified.com (look-alike sites exist).
- 2.In the search form, enter your First Name and Last Name. You can filter by State, but leaving State set to All returns the most comprehensive results. Click Search.
- 3.Find the listing that matches you and click Proceed to Opt Out next to that record.
- 4.Enter your email address, complete the CAPTCHA, then click Send Verification Email.
- 5.Open the verification email from BeenVerified (it typically arrives within about five minutes) and click Verify Opt-Out. This link expires after 48 hours, so click it promptly.

Opt Out Every Matching Record, Not Just One
BeenVerified frequently holds more than one profile per person. Maiden names, nicknames, middle-name variants, and old addresses can each generate a separate record.
Opting out of one record does not remove the others. Repeat the search-and-verify steps above for each matching listing individually until none of them point to you.
Use the State-Resident Form If You Live in a Covered State
Residents of states such as California (and per the research, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and Virginia) get a more detailed form at the same entry point. The flow asks for more information and ends with a different submit button.

Check the Affiliated Sites Too
Opting out of BeenVerified is reported to also remove you from its sister sites: PeopleLooker, NeighborWho, and Ownerly. The reverse is said to be true as well, so opting out of PeopleLooker reportedly removes you from BeenVerified.
To be safe, separately search your name on PeopleLooker, NeighborWho, and Ownerly after you opt out. If a listing still appears on any of them, run that site's own opt-out.
Re-Check Every Few Months
A successful opt-out does not guarantee permanent removal. BeenVerified can re-collect and re-list your data from new or updated public-records sources, so a fresh listing can appear later.
Re-search your name every three to four months and repeat the opt-out for anything new. Treating this as a recurring task, not a one-time fix, is what keeps you off the site.
Cancel a Subscription Billed Directly by BeenVerified
This applies only if you signed up for a paid plan billed directly by BeenVerified (not through Apple or Google). Removing your profile does not stop subscription billing, so you must cancel separately.
Have your 9-digit member ID ready. You can find it in your New Member Welcome email or on the right-hand side of your account Dashboard. The most reliable methods are phone and email, using the contact details on BeenVerified's own site.

Confirm you receive a cancellation email shortly after. If it does not arrive, follow up with support to make sure charges stop. If you are on a low-cost trial, cancel before the trial ends or you may be charged the full rate. Deleting the app does not cancel billing.
Cancel an Apple-Billed Subscription (iPhone, iPad, or Mac)
If you subscribed through an iPhone or iPad, Apple manages the billing. Canceling on beenverified.com will not stop an Apple-billed subscription.
