When your CMF Phone 2 Pro stops ringing for incoming calls, it can feel like you're suddenly disconnected from the world. This is a common hiccup on Android phones, and it's usually tied to a software setting or a network glitch rather than a broken device. I'd start with the simplest checks first, as they often solve the problem in under a minute.

The first thing to check is your signal strength. Look at the network bars in the top corner of your Nothing OS interface. If you're seeing one bar or an "X," you might simply be in a poor coverage area. Try moving to a different location or near a window.

Next, pull down the Quick Settings panel by swiping down from the top of the screen twice. Look for the airplane icon. If Airplane Mode is enabled, it will cut off all cellular connectivity, including calls. Tap it to turn it off, or toggle it on and then off again to refresh your connection.

A quick restart can clear out temporary software bugs that might be blocking calls. Just press and hold the power button, then tap "Restart" on the screen. If your phone is completely unresponsive, you can force a restart by holding the power button down for about 10 seconds until you feel it vibrate and reboot.

Check Your Do Not Disturb and Focus Modes

Nothing OS has a Focus Mode feature that's similar to Do Not Disturb. If it's active, it can silence all calls except from your favorites. Swipe down from the top to open Quick Settings and look for the Focus Mode icon (it looks like a crescent moon). If it's highlighted, tap it to turn it off.

For more detailed control, go into Settings > Sound & vibration > Focus Mode. Here, you can see which mode is active and check its rules. Make sure the settings aren't configured to block all incoming calls, which would explain the silence.

Review Call Blocking and Spam Protection

The Phone app on your CMF Phone 2 Pro has built-in spam protection that can sometimes be a bit too aggressive. Open your Phone app and tap the three-dot menu in the top right corner, then select Settings.

Look for a section called "Caller ID & spam" or "Blocked numbers." Tap into "Blocked numbers" to see if any important contacts have accidentally been added to the list. You can also review the spam filter settings to ensure it's not set to automatically silence all suspected spam calls, which could include calls you want.

Investigate Your SIM Card and Network

A loose or faulty SIM card is a classic culprit. You'll need the SIM ejector tool that came with your phone. Gently push it into the small hole on the SIM tray, pop it out, and remove the SIM card.

Give the gold contacts on the SIM a quick wipe with a soft, dry cloth and then reinsert it, making sure it's seated correctly in the tray. Push the tray back in until it clicks. After the phone reboots, check if calls come through. If you have access to another phone, testing your SIM card in it can tell you if the problem is with the card or your CMF Phone 2 Pro.

It's also worth a quick call or chat with your mobile carrier. They can check for any network outages in your area, verify your account is in good standing, and ensure call barring hasn't been accidentally activated on your line.

Reset Your Network Settings

If you're still having issues, resetting your network settings can clear up deeper configuration problems. This will erase all saved Wi-Fi passwords, Bluetooth pairings, and mobile network settings, so be prepared to re-enter them.

Go to Settings > System > Reset options. Tap on Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth and confirm your choice. Your phone will restart, and you'll need to reconnect to your cellular network and Wi-Fi. This step often resolves persistent call connectivity issues.

Update Software and Manage Apps

Running outdated software can lead to all sorts of bugs, including call problems. Nothing frequently releases updates for Nothing OS that include bug fixes. Go to Settings > System > System update and tap "Check for update." If one is available, download and install it.

Sometimes, a recently installed third-party app can interfere with phone services. Think about any new apps you added around the time the problem started. You can boot your CMF Phone 2 Pro into Safe Mode to test this. Hold the power button, then tap and hold the "Power off" icon on your screen until you see the Safe Mode prompt.

In Safe Mode, all third-party apps are disabled. If you can receive calls normally in this mode, a downloaded app is likely the cause. You'll need to restart to exit Safe Mode and then uninstall apps one by one to find the offender.

Clear the Phone App's Cache and Data

Corrupted data within the Phone app itself can cause it to malfunction. This won't delete your call history or contacts, but it will reset the app's settings. Go to Settings > Apps > See all apps and find "Phone" in the list.

Tap on it, then select Storage & cache. Tap "Clear cache" first and test your calls. If that doesn't work, go back and tap "Clear storage" or "Clear data." This will reset the app to its default state, which can often knock it out of a faulty loop.
