When your Vivo X200 Pro gets stuck on the Vivo logo during startup, it can feel like the phone is completely dead. The logo just sits there, sometimes with a progress bar that doesn't move. This usually happens after a failed software update, a corrupted app, or a system file getting messed up. Here's how to break out of that boot loop.

Wait 15-20 Minutes

Before you start pressing buttons, give your phone some time. After a major Android or Funtouch OS update, the phone can stay on the logo screen for a surprisingly long time while it finishes installing and optimizing apps in the background. If you see a progress bar under the Vivo logo, it's still working. Don't interrupt it. Plug it into the included 90W charger and wait at least 20 minutes.

Force Restart Your Vivo X200 Pro

If the logo has been stuck for more than 20 minutes with no progress, a force restart is your first real fix. For the X200 Pro, you simply press and hold the Power button for about 12 seconds or longer. Keep holding until you feel the phone vibrate and see the screen go black before the logo reappears. This breaks the stuck boot cycle and often gets the phone to start normally.

Boot into Recovery Mode

If the force restart just brings you back to the same frozen logo, you'll need to use recovery mode. Connect your X200 Pro to a computer using a USB-C cable. Make sure the computer is on and you have a reliable connection. Then, with the phone off, press and hold the Power button and the Volume Up button together until you see the Vivo logo, then release.

You should see a screen with options like "Reboot system now," "Wipe data/factory reset," and "Enter fastboot." Use the volume buttons to navigate and the power button to select. The key option here is Wipe cache partition. This clears temporary system files without deleting your personal data. After clearing the cache, select "Reboot system now."

Free Up Storage Space

A common trigger for boot loops is a software update running out of space mid-install. If you manage to get the phone working after a force restart, immediately check your storage. Go to Settings > Storage and free up at least 10-15 GB. The X200 Pro's 6000mAh battery is great, but a full storage drive can stop the system from booting. Delete old downloads, clear app caches, or move photos to the cloud.

Check Your Charger and Cable

Sometimes the issue isn't software, but power. A faulty charger or damaged USB-C cable can cause the phone to boot loop as it struggles to get enough stable power. Try using the official 90W charger and cable that came in the box. If you must use another cable, make sure it's a high-quality one capable of handling fast charging. I'd also try plugging it into a different wall outlet.

Perform a Factory Reset from Recovery

If wiping the cache didn't work, a factory reset is the next step. This will erase all your data, so it's a last resort before seeking service. Boot back into recovery mode using the Power and Volume Up buttons. Navigate to Wipe data/factory reset and confirm. After the reset is complete, select "Reboot system now." Your phone should boot up to the initial setup screen.

Since Vivo's Funtouch OS can have regional bloatware, a clean slate can sometimes resolve deep software conflicts that cause booting issues.

Use the Smart Assistant on a PC

Vivo offers official PC software, often called Vivo Smart Assistant or similar, for managing your phone. If your X200 Pro is detected by the computer in any state, this software might have a "System Repair" or "Flash Firmware" function. This can reinstall a clean version of Funtouch OS. You'll need to download the correct firmware file for your specific model and region from Vivo's official support site.

Consider a Hardware Issue

If the phone doesn't respond to a force restart, shows no signs of charging, or won't enter recovery mode at all, the problem could be physical. The most common culprits are a failed battery, a damaged USB-C port from the frequent 90W charging, or a fault with the main logic board. Given the X200 Pro's limited availability outside of China, you may need to contact Vivo support directly or visit an authorized repair center for diagnosis.
