When your Vivo X200 Pro won't send texts, it's incredibly frustrating. Messages might get stuck on "Sending," show a failure icon, or just disappear without a trace. The good news is, this is almost always a simple software or network glitch you can fix yourself.

Start With a Force Restart

This is the quickest fix for most temporary glitches, including messaging problems. Press and hold the Power button on the right side of your phone. Keep holding it for about 12 seconds, until you see the Vivo logo appear on the screen as the phone restarts. This refreshes the system and clears any minor software hiccups.

Check Your Mobile Data and Signal

Text messages (SMS) need a cellular signal, while multimedia messages (MMS) require mobile data to be active. Swipe down from the top of your screen to open the Quick Settings panel. Make sure mobile data is turned on, and check your signal strength. If you have one bar or less, try moving to a different location.

You can also toggle Airplane Mode on for 10 seconds, then off again. This forces your phone to reconnect to the cellular network from scratch, which often resolves sending issues. Just tap the airplane icon in your Quick Settings.

Verify Your Default Messaging App

If you've installed a third-party messaging app, your phone might be confused about which app to use. Go to Settings > Apps > Default apps. Tap on "SMS app" and make sure your preferred app, like Google Messages or the Vivo Messages app, is selected as the default.

Clear the Messaging App's Cache

A corrupted cache can stop messages from sending. Go to Settings > Apps. Find and tap on your messaging app (e.g., "Messages" or "Google Messages"). Select Storage & cache and then tap Clear cache. This deletes temporary files without touching your actual messages.

Check for Blocked Numbers

If your texts fail to send to one specific person, you might have accidentally blocked them. Open your Phone app and tap the three-dot menu icon, then go to Settings > Blocked numbers. If the contact is listed, tap the remove icon next to their name to unblock them.

Reset Your Network Settings

This is a more thorough step that resets all network-related configurations. Go to Settings > System management > Backup and reset > Reset phone > Reset network settings. Confirm the action. Your phone will reboot, and you'll need to reconnect to Wi-Fi networks and re-pair Bluetooth devices, but it often fixes deep-seated messaging problems.

Review Your APN Settings

Incorrect Access Point Name (APN) settings from your carrier can break MMS. Go to Settings > Network & internet > Mobile network > Access Point Names. Your carrier's correct APN should already be listed and selected. If it's missing or looks wrong, contact your carrier's support for the exact settings to enter.

Update Your Software and Carrier Services

An outdated version of Funtouch OS or Google Carrier Services can cause conflicts. Go to Settings > System update to check for the latest system software. Also, open the Google Play Store, search for "Carrier Services," and update that app if an update is available.

Try a Different Messaging App

To rule out a problem with your current app, temporarily install a different one like Google Messages from the Play Store. Set it as your default SMS app and see if you can send texts. If you can, the issue is with your original app, and you may need to clear its data or reinstall it.

Contact Your Mobile Carrier

If all else fails, the problem could be on your carrier's end. There might be a temporary outage in your area, or there could be an issue with your account provisioning. Give them a call or use their online chat support to confirm that SMS and MMS services are active and working on your line.
