If your Samsung Galaxy Tab S10+ has gone silent and isn't vibrating for notifications or alerts, it's a surprisingly common hiccup. The good news is that it's almost always a software or settings issue you can fix yourself in a few minutes.
Start With a Force Restart
Before you dive into settings, give your tablet a fresh start. Press and hold the Volume Down button and the Power button together for about 10 seconds. Keep holding them until you see the Samsung logo appear, then let go.
This simple reboot clears out any temporary glitches in the system that might be stopping the vibration motor from responding. I'd start with this one every time.
Check Your Sound and Vibration Mode
Your Tab S10+ has a few different sound profiles, and one of them completely disables vibration. Swipe down from the top of the screen twice to open the full Quick Settings panel.
Look for the "Sound" icon. If it says "Vibrate" or "Mute," tap it to cycle back to "Sound" mode. You can also go into Settings > Sounds and vibration > Sound mode to make sure "Sound" is selected.
Verify the Core Vibration Settings
Open Settings > Sounds and vibration. The first thing to check is the "Vibrate while ringing" toggle. Make sure it's switched on. If it's already on, try turning it off and back on again.
Right below that, tap on "Vibration intensity." Here you'll find separate sliders for call vibration, notification vibration, and touch feedback. If your tablet feels too quiet, slide these all the way to the right to max them out.
While you're in this menu, also tap "Vibration pattern" and try selecting a different one. Sometimes switching from the default pattern to something like "Heartbeat" can kick the system back into gear.
Look at App-Specific Notification Settings
If you're only missing vibrations from a specific app like Gmail or WhatsApp, the problem is likely in that app's notification permissions. Go to Settings > Apps, then find and select the app in question.
Tap on "Notifications." You'll see a list of notification categories for that app. Make sure notifications are enabled for the category you want, and that the "Vibrate" option is turned on inside each one.
Some apps bury their vibration settings within the app itself. It's worth opening the problematic app and checking its own notification settings menu as a second step.
Update Your Tablet's Software
Running outdated software can lead to weird bugs, including a non-functional vibration motor. Samsung regularly releases updates that fix these kinds of issues.
Go to Settings > Software update > Download and install. If an update is available, let it download and install. Make sure your tablet is connected to Wi-Fi and has at least a 50% charge before you start.
Test in Safe Mode
This step helps you figure out if a third-party app you installed is causing a conflict. To boot into Safe Mode, press and hold the Power button until the power menu appears.
Then, tap and hold the "Power off" option on your screen. A prompt will appear asking if you want to reboot to Safe Mode. Tap "OK." When the tablet restarts, you'll see "Safe mode" in the bottom-left corner.
If the vibration works normally in Safe Mode, you know an app you downloaded is the culprit. You'll need to restart normally and then uninstall apps one by one to find the offender. Recent downloads are a good place to start.
Reset All Settings
If you're still stuck, you can reset all your system settings to their defaults without erasing your personal data like photos or documents. This will revert sound, display, and network settings.
Navigate to Settings > General management > Reset > Reset settings. Tap "Reset settings" again and enter your PIN if prompted. After the tablet reboots, you'll need to reconfigure your Wi-Fi and wallpaper, but it often resolves stubborn glitches.
Run a Hardware Diagnostic Test
Samsung includes a hidden diagnostic menu you can use to test the vibration motor directly. Open your Phone app (yes, even on the Wi-Fi-only tablet model, the dialer is there).
Type *#0*# to enter the secret test menu. A grid of colored buttons will appear. Look for and tap the button labeled "Vibration."
If your Tab S10+ vibrates in a steady pattern during this test, the physical hardware is working perfectly. This confirms the issue is purely software-based. If there's absolutely no vibration during this test, it could point to a hardware problem.
Check for Interference from Themes or Modes
If you've applied a custom theme from the Galaxy Store, try removing it. Sometimes theme packages can have bugs that affect system behaviors. Long-press on an empty spot on your home screen, choose "Themes," and apply the default "Samsung" theme.
Also, check if you have any power-saving modes enabled. Go to Settings > Battery and device care > Battery > Power saving. If any power saving mode is on, turn it off, as these modes can sometimes limit or disable vibration to conserve battery.
