So your OPPO Find X8 Pro won't charge. You've plugged in the included 80W SUPERVOOC charger, maybe even tried a different cable, and the screen stays dark. It's a frustrating spot to be in, but this is almost always something you can fix yourself without a trip to a repair shop.
Whether you're dealing with a USB-C port that feels loose, a wireless charger that won't connect, or a phone that's completely unresponsive, we'll walk through the solutions. Let's start with the quickest fixes and work our way through.
Force Restart Your OPPO Find X8 Pro
This should always be your first move. A simple force restart can clear out a temporary software glitch that's interfering with the charging system. It takes about ten seconds and often solves the problem right away.
For the Find X8 Pro, just press and hold the Power button for 10 seconds or more until you feel a vibration or see the OPPO logo appear on the screen. Once it boots back up, plug it in and check for the charging indicator.
Clean the USB-C Charging Port
This is the single most common fix for any phone that won't charge. Over months of use, pocket lint and dust get compacted deep into the USB-C port. Eventually, there's so much debris that your cable's connector can't make proper contact with the gold pins inside.
Grab a bright light and look closely into the port on your Find X8 Pro. If you see any packed-in lint or dirt, you'll need to carefully remove it. First, power the phone off completely for safety.
Then, use a wooden or plastic toothpick to gently scrape along the sides and bottom of the port. Avoid using anything metal, like a paperclip, as it can easily scratch or short the delicate contacts. A quick blast of compressed air can help loosen things up, too.
Test a Different Cable and Power Source
You need to isolate the problem. Is it your phone, the cable, the wall adapter, or the outlet itself? The best way to find out is to swap each component one by one.
Try a different USB-C cable, preferably one you know works for fast charging on another device. Then, try a different wall adapter. Don't forget to test a different wall outlet entirely, as sometimes a single outlet can fail. Also, remove your phone case, especially if it's very thick or has a magnetic ring, as it can sometimes prevent a secure connection.
If your Find X8 Pro charges with a different setup, you've found the faulty part. Remember, for the full 80W SUPERVOOC speeds, you really need to use the official charger and cable that came in the box.
Check for Software Updates
OPPO regularly releases updates for ColorOS that fix bugs, including ones related to power management and charging. If you're running an older version of Android 15 or ColorOS 15, an update could resolve your issue.
Go to Settings > About device > Software update to check for and install any available updates. If your phone won't turn on at all, you might need to charge it just enough to boot, or look into updating via a computer connection, which is a bit more involved.
Try Wireless Charging
If wired charging isn't working, trying the Find X8 Pro's wireless charging capability is a great diagnostic step. It tells you if the problem is isolated to the USB-C port or if it's something more systemic.
Place your phone on a Qi wireless charger. For the fastest 50W speeds, you need OPPO's proprietary AIRVOOC charger. A standard Qi charger will work, but it will be much slower, capping at around 15W. Make sure you remove any thick cases and center the phone on the charging pad.
If wireless charging works but plugging in a cable does not, that strongly points to an issue with the USB-C port itself, either from debris or physical damage.
Let a Dead Battery Sit on the Charger
If your Find X8 Pro's battery has been completely drained to zero percent, it won't show any signs of life immediately when you plug it in. This is a safety feature of lithium-ion batteries and is completely normal.
Leave it connected to the wall charger (not a computer or low-power USB port) for at least 30 minutes. Don't touch it or try to turn it on during this time. After a while, you should see the charging icon or a red LED light near the top of the screen.
Charge with the Phone Powered Off
Sometimes, a background app or process in ColorOS can interfere with the charging circuit. By turning the phone completely off, you eliminate that possibility and allow for a "clean" charge.
Hold the power button and select "Power off." Once the screen is completely black, plug in your SUPERVOOC charger. If it starts charging normally, you know a software glitch was the culprit. This method also typically results in slightly faster charging since no system resources are being used.
Check for Overheating
The Find X8 Pro's Dimensity 9400 chip is powerful, but it can run warm during sustained use like gaming or video recording. All phones have built-in temperature protection that will slow down or completely halt charging if the device gets too hot.
If your phone feels unusually warm to the touch, unplug it and let it cool down in a shaded spot for 15-20 minutes. Avoid charging it on a soft surface like a bed or couch, which traps heat. Once it's cooled, try charging again.
Consider a Factory Reset (Last Resort)
If you've tried every other step and your OPPO Find X8 Pro still refuses to charge reliably, a deeper software issue might be at play. A factory reset will wipe your phone back to its original settings, eliminating any problematic apps or corrupted system data.
This will erase all your personal data, so it's crucial to have a recent backup. You can initiate a reset through Settings > Additional settings > Backup and reset > Erase all data (factory reset). After the reset is complete, set the phone up as new and immediately test the charging. If it still doesn't work, the issue is almost certainly hardware-related.
