If your OPPO Find X8 Pro is plugged in but the battery percentage is crawling up, you're missing out on one of its best features. The 80W SUPERVOOC wired charging should get you from zero to half in under 15 minutes, and the 50W AIRVOOC wireless is just as impressive when you use the right gear.
Start with the Right Charger and Cable
This is the most common culprit. The Find X8 Pro's 80W fast charging only works with the specific SUPERVOOC charger and cable that came in the box. Using a standard USB-C charger, even a high-wattage one, will default to much slower speeds. I'd always start by checking you're using the original brick and the thick, white USB-C cable.
For wireless charging, the 50W AIRVOOC speed requires OPPO's proprietary AIRVOOC charger. If you place it on a standard Qi wireless pad, you'll be limited to around 15W, which will feel very slow in comparison.
Check the Charging Port for Debris
Take a close look at the USB-C port on the bottom of your phone. Lint from your pocket can get packed in there over time, preventing the cable from seating fully. This creates a poor connection that can kill fast charging. Gently clean it out with a wooden toothpick or a soft-bristled brush. Avoid using anything metal.
Let the Phone Cool Down
The Dimensity 9400 chip in the Find X8 Pro is powerful, but it can run warm during heavy use. If the phone's temperature gets too high, the system will automatically throttle charging speed to protect the battery. This is a safety feature, not a defect.
If the phone feels hot to the touch, take it off the charger for a few minutes. Move it to a cooler, hard surface like a table instead of a soft bed or couch. Removing your case can also help it dissipate heat faster.
Don't Use It While It's Charging
This is a big one. Demanding tasks like gaming, video recording, or using the excellent periscope zoom cameras while plugged in will generate heat and consume power. The charging system has to split its effort between powering the phone and filling the battery, which slows everything down. For the absolute fastest charge, just let it sit.
Perform a Force Restart
Sometimes a minor software glitch in ColorOS can mess with the power management. A quick reboot can clear it. Press and hold the Power button for about 10 seconds, or until you see the OPPO logo reappear and the phone restarts. This doesn't erase any data.
Check for a Software Update
OPPO releases updates that can optimize charging algorithms and fix bugs. Go to Settings > About device > Software update to check for any available downloads. Keeping your phone on the latest version of Android 15 and ColorOS 15 is a good habit for all sorts of performance issues.
Inspect Your Cable and Adapter
Cables wear out, especially at the ends where they bend. Check your original SUPERVOOC cable for any fraying, kinks, or loose connections. The same goes for the pins inside the charging brick. If you have access to another OPPO SUPERVOOC charger (from a friend or another OPPO device), try it to see if the problem follows your charger or stays with the phone.
Look at Your Charging Environment
Make sure you're plugging directly into a wall outlet. Power strips, extension cords, or smart plugs with lower power ratings can sometimes limit the available current. Also, if you're traveling, verify the voltage is compatible, though modern chargers usually handle 110V-240V.
For wireless charging, ensure the AIRVOOC charger is plugged in properly and that there's nothing like a thick phone case or a metal plate between the phone and the charging coil. Alignment is key for those high speeds.
