Boutique publisher Super Rare Games enters the Switch 2 physical market next week with Minishoot' Adventures, marking its first cartridge release for Nintendo's new console. The twin-stick shooter will be available in two editions starting April 23rd, priced at £38.50 for the Standard Edition and £53.50 for a Special Edition that adds a soundtrack CD, keychain, and clamshell box.

Pre-orders open on April 23rd at 6 PM BST with estimated shipping in July. The Switch 2 cartridge will also play on original Switch consoles, following Nintendo's backward compatibility approach for physical releases.

Both editions include the complete game on cartridge without download codes or game-key cards.

Super Rare CEO George Perkins told Nintendo Life that Minishoot' Adventures represents "what a Super Rare game should be." He described it as blending classic Zelda-style exploration with bullet-hell shooter mechanics and modernized graphics.

The company is shifting its business model for Switch 2 releases. Trading cards will no longer come standard with base editions but will be sold separately moving forward. However, customers who order the Standard Edition before April 30th will receive trading cards free as a launch promotion.

"We'll be using early interest to gauge demand before locking in run numbers,"

Perkins explained. This approach helps manage inventory risks amid global distribution challenges and rising costs.

The publisher has already signed multiple future Switch 2 projects across various genres, with four or five releases planned for this year alone. Perkins hinted that "the next game release is expected to arrive faster than people might think."

Minishoot' Adventures originally launched digitally in June 2025 and combines twin-stick shooting with adventure game exploration elements.
