Sony launched its WF-1000XM6 true wireless earbuds globally this week, including UAE availability at Dh 1299. The $329.99 flagship earbuds replace the 2023 WF-1000XM5 with a redesigned pill-shaped chassis that Sony claims is 11% slimmer.

Active noise cancellation improves by 25% over the previous generation, according to Sony's specifications. The upgrade comes from a new QN3e processor that Sony says operates three times faster than the chip in the WF-1000XM5.

Each earbud now contains four microphones instead of three, bringing the total to eight. A bone conduction sensor joins dual microphones on each side for call quality improvements.

Sony implemented AI beamforming algorithms to isolate voices in noisy environments.

Battery life maintains eight hours with ANC enabled, matching the WF-1000XM5's performance. The charging case provides two additional charges for 24 hours total playback. Wireless charging support continues alongside USB-C wired charging.

The WF-1000XM6 processes 32-bit audio through its Integrated Processor V2, up from 24-bit in the previous model. Sony collaborated with mastering engineers from Sterling Sound, Coast Mastering, and Battery Studios for audio tuning.

The Sound Connect app includes a 10-band equalizer for customization.

Connectivity upgrades include Bluetooth 5.3 with LE Audio support and antennas 1.5 times larger than the WF-1000XM5's. The earbuds support multipoint pairing, Auracast broadcasting, and hands-free Google Gemini activation.

Sony retained foam-based eartips in four sizes for noise isolation. The IPX4 rating provides splash resistance for workouts and light rain. Two color options include Black and Platinum Silver finishes.

In Malaysia, Sony offers preorder pricing at RM1,249 before the product reverts to RM1,599. The company simultaneously introduced a Sand Pink variant of its WH-1000XM6 over-ear headphones at $459.99.

The WF-1000XM6 represents Sony's sixth generation of flagship wireless earbuds since the series debuted at IFA 2017. The $329.99 price represents a $30 increase over the WF-1000XM5's original launch price.
