The company appears focused on software improvements and price stability rather than hardware upgrades for its flip-style foldable line.
Leaked specifications reveal a dual battery system totaling 4,174 mAh rated capacity, matching the Galaxy Z Flip 7's power storage. The typical advertised capacity remains at 4,300 mAh.
This is a departure from previous generations where Samsung increased battery size annually. The Galaxy Z Flip 5 featured a 3,700 mAh battery, followed by the Z Flip 6's increase to 4,000 mAh and the Z Flip 7's jump to 4,300 mAh.
Camera specifications show no meaningful changes either. The primary sensor stays at 50 megapixels, supported by a 12-megapixel ultrawide lens and a 10-megapixel front-facing camera. The absence of a dedicated telephoto lens continues for another generation.
Samsung will maintain standard lithium-ion technology for the Flip 8 while relying on energy efficiency improvements through chipset and display optimization. This strategy mirrors what the company achieved with its Galaxy S26 series, delivering longer battery life despite identical mAh ratings compared to previous models.
